Girls: Good guys or Bad guys??

what u prefer?

Posted by Streakfury on Jan-20-2004 01:43:

Speaking on behalf of most of the women I know, they tend to go for bad guys who treat them like shit. Which doesn't make much sense to me...

Posted by Endlesswave on Jan-20-2004 01:44:

I agree w Streakfury. Most women tend to go for that man because they love the "excitement" and confidence those types of guys sometimes to have...

Posted by UglyDave on Jan-20-2004 01:49:

yeah, seems to be that way alright.
i do not understand it

now, some girlies opinions needed!

Posted by Boomer187 on Jan-20-2004 01:54:

damn, time to start being a mean guy, this nice guy thing sucks ass

Posted by whiskers on Jan-20-2004 02:29:

there have been pretty long threads about this and we decided that girls tend to go for "flings" with the bad guys but when they want a serious, demanding relationship, they wise up and go for the "nice" type of a guy

Posted by benfica88 on Jan-20-2004 02:45:

As i've seen from experience, usually girls who are younger per se, 32 and under are more attracted to the bad guy, and girls who are over 32 are looking for the nice guy, but a lot of times they usually are divorced and have kids and stuff like that anyway. Of course this doesn't apply to everygirl, you just kind of have to find out for yourself.

It's not about being a bad or a nice guy: it's just the difference from having confidence (which some people seem to link with the image of bad guy) and beeing a bloody doormat (the good guy). Keep in mind that you can be a good guy and not be a doormat Girls also like new things: if you're just like the rest, you'll hardly get any attention. That's why "bad guys with attitude" seem to be young girl's choice. They have this "different" image, rebel, which calls their attention.

This is the essence, I can't be arsed to tell the whole thing... gotta go to bed

Posted by Endlesswave on Jan-20-2004 03:57:

Yes yes, maaz has it right. I just have to find out how to be different. Meh, it'll work out...

Posted by crchingtiger on Jan-20-2004 04:09:

i personally prefer good guys...

i'm a sucker for the sweet guys...i've alwayz given the nice guys a chance...
nice guys don't alwayz finish last in my eyes

i hate the bad guys...cuz they just THINK they're bad ass...

Posted by AnotherWay83 on Jan-20-2004 05:28:

oh god...this must be the 1284638367583673th time that this topic has come up on here lol

BUT i'll chip in anyway

its not abt being the good guy vs. the bad guy...the girl will go with the guy that she thinks can show her the best time, period. if that happens to be the bad guy, which in most cases it unfortunately is, then thats the way it is....but of course it doesnt have to be that way

Posted by squirrelly on Jan-20-2004 06:04:

All I ever look for are the nice guys. That's all I ever get involved with. But somehow, all the nice guys turn into horrible people after a period of time...

So doesn't this theory mean that eventually all of you will turn into bad guys anyway? So why shouldn't I just start going after the bad guys to begin with? At least then I'll know what to expect.

When a nice guy goes bad, it just hurts so much worse.

Posted by Cuervo79 on Jan-20-2004 07:20:

I see that when Guys start talking who women prefer (good or bad guys) it allways turns out that the base of it is not in a relationship its only for attraction.

I personally I consider myself a good guy, but its wrong to place ourselves in these two categories, because everyone has a good and a bad side, like Anunevertrade says, she looks for good guys but most of them turn out bad, Its not that they weren't good guys, its that Some don't know what they are getting into, for me I don't like commitment, or co-dependend ppl, but my last "relationship" was exactly that, and at the end I completely acted as a jerk instead of a nice guy (not proud of it). Why because I didn't know what I was getting into (or was in denial) LOL hehehehehehe

yeah dude, a lot of the them do turn into dicks...even bigger dicks than the so-called "bad" guys...

but there are a few who don't...hard to find, yes...
but with nice guys, you gotta hang around, be their buddy for a while and see if they really are what you think...

Posted by Misty Kitty on Jan-20-2004 12:01:

I have a nice guy and i won't change that

Dick/Jerk is a vague term that lacks explaination. Did they physically abuse you, verbally taunt you, what the hell did they do to earn their dick status?

Posted by Spyder on Jan-20-2004 15:15:

i think i go for the good guys cuz thats usualy the type of guys ive dated so far...

but sometimes i wish i could date a bad guy i guess just to see the diffrence... all in all i'm happy wit my good guy now..

Posted by DigiNut on Jan-20-2004 15:48:

I think the simple answer to this question is that they date bad guys but delude themselves into thinking that they're really good guys.

The thing about the two categories is correct though... the vast majority of guys are going to be nice to a girl when she's buying gifts, putting out, and making sandwiches, whereas they're going to be jerks when she's getting demanding, being a slut, or arguing with every little thing. Different circumstances bring out different sides of people, and it's only when one is really really comfortable with themselves and their bf/gf that they can continue to be "good" even when the other person is being "bad".
