DJs that compare to DJ Micro
out of all the trance I've listened to, I can't get over on how Micro's Tech mix cd is the best compiled one of em all, imo. And I've been searching for someone who is comparable to that style. I've got a lot of random tracks from others and really havn't bought a cd besides his and the next time I tried to buy a new artist, it sucked and was like a kid made up his mix on fruityloops. anyhow, you guys know your stuff, what da ya recommend?
Tracklist?
a tracklist, or the name of the DJ and album of a well compiled cd

Didnt Micro release other Tech mix albums? Tech Mix 2.0 et al? anyhoo i'll give this CD another go around and tell you what i think
Ok first off, what a bunch of lame ass replies from Matt Jay. If you have no idea what this dude is talking about why reply at all. DJ Micro made a few mix cds in the Tech Mix Series(Tech Mix, Tech Mix v2, and Tech Mix 2000).
Now back to the orignal poster... I would say if you like his sound stick with him. Check out amazon.com and read what people have to say about his other mix cds. I did a quick search and he has a bunch of other cds not in the tech mix series.
Also if you say you liked the first one the most (which I agree with) then you want to stick to trance that has a harder, techier sound. It seemed to me that his other Tech Mixes leaned more towards standard melodic trance stuff and away from his harder sound in the first tech mix cd. If you like his sound before he changed into a more generic trance sound (IMO) then try his CD Coast to Coast or Caffeine: The Natural Stimulant. I have never heard either of them but he made them before Tech Mix I believe.
Another thought is to look for music (either mix cds or albums) by some of the artists (or remixers if the track is a remix) that did your favorite tracks on Tech Mix.
I hope this helps.
PS - Ok, so I was reading what people have been saying on Amazon and have decided that they are a bunch of wankers (except a select few).

I've got the Micro Tech-Mix Live. I'll check out that caffine album though.
I'm checkin out those songs listed above too. thank guys
Well if you like his Tech Mix Live, it is sort of stuff he was spinning after he started doing more straight trance (compared to the harder, techy, acid, breaks stuff he did before) so I would say maybe get Tech Mix 2 or Tech Mix 2000 or even My Frequency if you want a newer album. I would think that any of his CDs from about 1998 and after would have what you want.
how about artists or tracks with the similar style? as micro?
I'm basically looking for something with a melody and stuff that has the hard techier sound.
tracks that are so damn simple in that they don't differ throughout it are what I don't like.
songs that have something to them like a journey(idk how else to explain it) like it's not something a robot made.
Shit well I'm sure somebody knows what I'm thinkin.
Check out Atomic Babies - Breuklen Heightz album..its got a lot of techier/ techno-ish tracks you may enjoy.
Luke Slater also did some minimalist techno you might enjoy as well. Check out his album wireless & Freek Funk. its pretty gritty though.
More techy stuff , pretty much anything by Marco V or Mauro Picotto may float your boat as well.
I am going to agree with what Mebot said.
The problem is I can't really think of a DJ quite like Micro. I can think of DJ's who play more techy stuff (Marco V and Mauro Picotto) but in the end I think you will find they are not nearly as melodic as Micro. Of course people say Tiesto sometimes plays techy stuff but you will not notice it much on his mix CDs.
I don't really know much about this style but try looking for some sets by Nick sentience. But as Ninja-Balls said, TA's please post some hardier, techier trance songs with a nice melody, I have a few myself but I don't have the track names, so I can't tell you sorry. PM me and I can send some to you if you're willing.
Theres a few sets by Nick Sentience here.
My favorite would have to be his Tech Mix v2. Very heavy at the beginning and cooling it down with Godspeed and into Tekara was incredible. I used to follow Micro across the US like I do with PvD & Armin, but he definitely went to the commercial trance scene and lost my interest. I recently seen him at a party in NYC and thought he was mediocre, and lost his touch for set structure.
Tech Mix v2 was by far the best of his CDs. Coast to Coast is closer to Texh Mix and Caffine is more across the board on style.
Tech Mix v2 Tracklist:
1. Stop and Panic - Cirrus
2. Higher - Steve Thomas
3. You'll Know
4. Dome - Freezzy Jam Team
5. Behind the Sun - Transa
6. Godspeed - BT
7. Breathe in You - Tekara
8. Raise Your Hands - Boston Bruins
9. Oriental - JDS
10. Move On
11. Drive By - Jan Driver
12. S-Express - Phil Fuldner
ive got both Coast 2 Coast and Caffeine:the natural stimulant and i will say they r good.expect nothing less from a cd by Micro.they r more of the sound he was playing when Caffeine 1st started.different in sound to his later works, but still worth a listen.ive got all his cds and i think they r all good.personally,my favorite is Tech Mix Live.so fuck it,buy them all!!!
i've got the old school tech mixes from micro...actually he was the first dj i ever saw in a club along with carl cox...
i liked the older ones better than techmix live...i would try those out first and if you like the newer one more than look into marco v like someone else said...if you like the older ones more look into maybe some tiesto and ferry corsten or something...although micro always played a little rougher than them...
one album i would recomend for a more tech-ier sound would b DJ Tiesto:Space Age 1.0.not as much trance as his later shit, but good none the less.

ive been a hugh micro fan for a long time now, he basically the one who got me into trance. All his tech mixes are really good especially tech mix 2000, my frequency is ok but not his greatest imo, if you want some real quality get his Music Through Me cd, some really top class trance right there
Tech Mix 2000 all the way. The best in the series.
Tracklist:
01. DJ Micro - Sound Barrier
02. Blank & Jones - Cream [Paul Van Dyk Remix]
03. Baby Doc and SJ - Bangers and Mashed
04. Yukoozu - Drugs [DJ Wag Remix]
05. Dumonde - See the Light [Onkels Remix]
06. Transa - Supernova [Original Version]
07. Matt Darey - Liberation [Ferry Corsten Remix]
08. Joshua Ryan - Unreal
09. Deepsky - Stargazer [Retroactive Mix]
10. Global Cee - Light up My Life [DJ Scott Project Remix]
11. Oscar Rodrguez - M.A.D. (Mental Ability to Be Different)
This was one of the first mix CD's I've ever bought and I used to play it out when I would go to raves back in the day. Joshua Ryan - Unreal always threw me for a trip, thats some crazy ass song right there. Just the whole CD is great. Micro's compilations though have gone downhill and are gettin a bit cheesy.
