Underworld - Born Slippy (Phazed Reality Remake)

Hello people

Im sure every producer has thought about or done a remix of born slippy so here is my offering. Had cainings from the likes of Mark Norman, Ronski Speed, Dj Precision and Ireland's Neal Scarborough mongst others! Had some really good feedback from people who have heard it either in a club or on the net. Your feedback is welcome!

I hope i can do more remixes like this one in the future as i think its one of my best works to date!

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanx to djravemonkey for the webspace!

Thanx
Geo

Is it meant to just stop at 4m33s?

Posted by jcosgrove on Jan-21-2004 11:22:

this is a quality remix

Posted by Nemesis44 on Jan-21-2004 13:48:

I tell you what, that is a really good remix but I do feel that there is just one thing you could do with it (appart from give me a copy). Make it really punch in at about 4:30 and I will cane it down the south of England for you.
That is the only bad thing that I can thing as it just tends to resume the beat rather than hit you they way I was hoping it would.

Over all though top quality mate!!! 110%

You and I need to talk, if you are planning on turning out tracks like this in the future I want to be on your promos list that's for sure.
I DJ for a living and can give you full references if you want. Just so you know it's not a scam.

Cheers
Nem

Up alongside Autumn as your best work mate.

Love the real techy driving sound to this track which pisses on the Van Dyk and any other trance related mix of Born Slippy.

10/10

Keep the feedback coming!!! Im amazed by the comments so far, and thank you all that have taken the time to post!

Im working on a follow up track in a similar style titled "phazed reality - dark jungle". I'll post about it when i have a decent clip made up

Thanx again

great stuff! i love the bassline!!

very powerful as well..

but the frequency of the pad is a bit too high, it seems..

not that big of a deal though, great job overall!!

Posted by Bren-F on Jan-21-2004 19:47:

This has just kicked my arse off every wall in the room !
Brilliant remix !
My only prob is that its got a little too much high end 'Fizz' on the pads, other then that its brilliant !!!

Posted by Nik Novo on Jan-21-2004 20:02:

wow! this one's great! thanks...!

i will mix it into one of my next mixes that are played on the radio, if you don't mind...

im not a big fan of this track at all, but this remix is actually pretty good, keep up the good work.

Posted by DJPrototypeX on Jan-22-2004 12:45:

wow...excellent remix! i love how u just 'slide' everythin in and sneak it in there. i loved the break! definately somethin different fro mall the other Born Slippy remixes. all the elements from the original sound so crisp on your remix, i loved this remix! i cant wait to hear more from u.

Posted by dbl on Jan-22-2004 13:23:

sounds really nice

Posted by tranzMental on Jan-22-2004 18:55:

Hey, you got a great sound goin there mate! It has some nice power at the break down, which gives it a nice feel! Yes, those pads definetly have a lot of high ends, which can be fixed. This has a VERY, VERY Massive sound to it, which would make it AMAZING to play on a live set!

The kicks are STRONG AS HELL!!! The acid like synths in the beginning were awesome, and that fast, thick bassline really adds that extra punch. I was a bit mad when I heard the intro, because I thought you were gonna turn this into a cheesey trance fest, but when I heard the rest DEFINETLY worth waiting for. Keep this up! I'd give this a 9 or higher -Mental

Sounds amazing!! everything is so clear and sharp. thought in some parts the white noise kind of takes over, 4:35 for example, to much distortion.

Posted by trite on Jan-23-2004 03:32:

It got my feet shaking

Though there is a little too much high freq stuff.

Posted by Syeker on Jan-23-2004 18:07:

Too much nrg in this one but that's the idea isn't it?. Gotta say this was a faithful version of the original.

Posted by tom_langford on Jan-23-2004 23:18:

Like this remix a lot, definately will be gving this a spin. Just out of curiosity where did you get the vocals from, is there an acapella or are they ripped from the original. I'd give it 9/10 for sure. Keep it up, Tom

Thanks for all the comments!!! Has been amazing responce to this, so thank you all.

The samples came from the original track, just played about with some things to get them the way they are.

Again, thanks for all the comments and keep em coming!
