closed threads...

...really really annoy me.

i know you feel there is a reason to close them but after reading posts sometimes i feel a need to reply. it's not exactly free speech which forums are about if you close it down.

to view and not respond holds me disabled.

that is all.

Blame the people who caused the thread to be closed, not the mods for doing their job. And if they were to consider each TAs desire to post before a thread gets closed the entire forum would be total pandemonium. You're just gonna have to accept that unless you're not quick enough to get your reply in before it gets closed, then you're outta luck.

in short, deal with it. we close threads so they dont go any further, just because you dont get to have your say on the subject after it has been discussed and then closed for whatever reason doesnt mean im just going to leave every thread open.

the point was not to close them at all not to consider everybody who wants to post.

it is the individual reactions that cause counter reactions. why can somebodies post be wrong. because it is irrelevant to most people? becuase they show views of hate?

what are the rules to being silenced?

and don't say read the faq!

because they incite hate, start one big slanging match. the reason we close threads is because we DO think about other who want to post, people who will jsut stick the boot in cause more arguments etc. just because 1 in 10 people who wanted to make a post will not make a hateful/attacking post doesnt mean we should leave the thread open for the other 9 to argue like fuck.

one of the rules are no flaming...

Yeah, my 2pennies for what its worth. I do agree with free speech, and the internet is a good medium for it. But in my experience, especially on the UKTA board, closed threads have more often than not been spam threads, and i have so far not thought any closed threads on this particular board have been closed unreasonably.

to be perfectly honest I think Ste & Jeff do a great job in particular in here. They set a level of acceptability, no fao's etc and no blatant spamming, and they stick to it, you know what to expect if you do post something derogatory and I think the majority of the regular ukta's it's the same that we don't have an awful lot of arguments and I prefer it that way, especially with so many ignorant (mainly americans )

hahah.

nearly 100% of the times threads are closed in here because someone posts an FAO to sum1 when they should of pm'd then or when sum1 spams their night/mp3 site/radio show over the WHOLE FORUM and gets dealt with.

that really coz we all get along but when outside people come in they are usually the ones to cause trouble and get the thread in question closed.
