Hello!
you've probably heard tiesto - traffic. Fuckin tune, huh?
Anyone got some musictips for me?
I don't know in what style it's categorized, and maybe you could tell me what recognizes the different styles?

Thank ya all! This site really rocks.

Traffic is techno.

Posted by Salem on Jan-21-2004 19:21:

heh

i dont know about techno, leans more towards prog. to me....but, everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

Posted by Perfect_Cheezit on Jan-21-2004 19:29:

i wouldnt call it prog either...
its techtrance imo, it uses that bit from that old techno track tho

Posted by vitorsl on Jan-21-2004 19:40:

tech-trance for sure

Posted by torontotrance on Jan-21-2004 19:42:

yep. has nothing to do with prog, and is too anthemic, using too many synths for techno

Tiesto - Flight 643

Actually that's a better way to classify it. Upon listening again it does have too many synths to be considered techno. Tech-trance it is.

Traffic isn't techno.. it's a piece of crap song , that only should be in the top40 dance charts. Sorry to say but the tune is sooo overrated.

Yeah, it's like soooo commercial...

techy trance to me too

The Max Walder remix is, however, techno -- and never seems to get mentioned much -- great tune. I can't really choose between the two mixes myself.

Traffic isn't Techno and it certainly isn't Prog...it's barely even trance. Traffic is Hardstyle-bosh-shit, it's closest cousin would probably be some derivative of Hardcore.
The Max Walder remix isn't even real techno...

Traffic is tech trance. It's not hardstyle or anything like hardcore. And why isn't Walder's mix "real" techno? He's a reputable techno producer.

tech-trance is techno-influenced trance, or trance with elements of techno in it...what pray tell are the elements of techno in Traffic?? I certainly can't find any.

as for Max Walder, I don't have any problem with him, and I know he is a reputable techno producer. I was simply stating his remix isn't full on techno. Infact, the Max Walder remix is what I would call tech-trance.

Minimal melody, deep driving, simple bassline, sharp percussions (though not nearly as full as most techno).

More like straight up techno with a bit of a melody.

Posted by KrissO on Jan-22-2004 07:25:

I would call it tech-trance... (doesn't mean that's correct though)

Posted by basd on Jan-22-2004 07:42:

I would call it stfuandstoptryingtogivenamestoeverything.

hes eaning a hella lot of money with it

didnt he have like 3 of his songs in the top 5? of the ID&t top 500 list? (for whats that worth :P)

i cant blame people making commercial tracks..i mean they want to make money!!!

Posted by PlasticSoul on Jan-22-2004 14:59:

Well, I think Traffic is techtrance...

If I understood...some music like this:

Ferry Corsten - Punk
Ferry Corsten - Rock your body, rock
Ferry Corsten - Right of way
Katana - Tribal Shock
Tiesto - Flight 643
Mauro Picotto - Amazing
Marcel Woods - Time's running out
M.i.k.e. : Turn out the lights

thats what i was thinking

stick with the underground tunes like as the rush comes man....

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jan-22-2004 17:27:

Traffic is trance, but there's a techno element to it in the percussion which means most people will class it as tech-trance.
