I found one of my old "TECHNO" CDs

I just pissed myself laughing when I heard the stuff I put on an OLD cd I just dug up from god knows where...

Made me think if I really listened to such cheese back then. Observe:

Tracklisting (if I recall correctly):
1 Yanou feat. Do - On & On
2 DJ Sammy - Heaven (Green Court Remix)
3 DJ Sammy - Sunlight
4 Some Producer - Shining Star
5 Some Producer - Fly Away
6 Lange - Drifting Away
7 Jan Johnston - Flesh (Tilt's Going home mix) -- not bad
8 IIO - Rapture (Riva Mix)
9 Deal - Shine
10 Jan Johnston - Silent Words (Some mix)
11 Some Producer - Be with me
12 ATB - Dont stop
13 Akyra - Here comes the rain again -- (Original of this song is not that bad, done in the 80s I think)

Now, I am gonna ask myself again, WTF? But then again, its fun to listen to old CDs labeled 'techno' and laugh... So baby talk to meeeeeeeeeee

This is actually a good "techno" tune... but as far as the others are concerned...

But hey...if it makes you feel any better, I listened to the same kind of crap myself just a couple of years ago.

Rasta

^^

agreed, the riva remix of the Iio song is awesome. I remember first hearing it on PvD's soundgarden show way back when.

Seems like there's a lot of DJ Sammy on your list :P

Ohh man, back in the day all I listened to was cheese, it's how I got into it all.

Alice Deejay and ATB were my favorite artists, lol.

Ahh, good times.

Surprised you actually were able to identify the "general" timeframe of this song. In fact, it was late 1983...November...The Eurythmics...the Album was Touch (11/83)...before you were born...so close in fact....yes...yes it may be the song your parents were doing the squelchy to...and thus you were conceived. See, you have close connection to that song, considering you were born in August of the next year...9 months later...when...Wow...the Dj Sammy cover of Heaven, was released by Bryan Adams - Reckless in 1984...awwww they probably played that one in your cradle. No wonder you found this mix so interesting

Thought the historical reference was a very funny coincidence

As far as this being "old"... my old 'electronica' vinyls are from around 1978. Nothing like Giorgio Moroder or Yellow Magic Orchestra...hmmm.
