Sanctuary - Sample
Hey guys, just something i started working on yesterday. Not quite sure how its turning out, so would love some opinions on the melody/synth to see if they are working together.
Hasn't gone through any eq, compression or fx yet but you get the jist. No arrangement done yet either, just some simple layout.
My main concern is to make sure I haven't copied someone else. Twice I have inadvertantly done this so I just want to make sure this time.
HERE is the link
Thanks peeps.
OK sounds clear, but it's nothing more than some chords to me, and they don't grab me emotionally, if you get what I mean. Maybe you could add some pads and some melody.
But I'm curious how you finish this one, could turn out pretty ok.
cheers
Hey Cheggy,
the basssline is good but needs to be tighter, I guess you'll solve that with compression. I hear some frequencies around 1.5kHz, it sounds skreachy a little. It seems it's part of your bassline or maybe percussion. I would probably not use this, if possible. Other than that the feel is energetic and driving. After compression and equalization it should sound punchier and tighter.
Hey there,
Sounds pretty good so far.
Only thing that struck me was something that the others said and that's the noise in the background. Sounds like the dead are trying to communicate with the living through your synth or something. It could give a creative twist to leave it in though, so no biggie.
It oozes energy but needs to feel a little tighter me thinks.
Good job though.
Cheers
Nem
It sounds like a dead cat ay. I found out what it was. One of the patches got changed when I recorded everything to audio. Its a wailing chinaman sound. I'll fix that one up. Well as long as its energetic, that was my goal. Will try and get this puppy finished.
I know it needs to be tighter. Like I said, this hasn't been run through any fx, compression yet. Not even reverb on the lead, so that should be easily solved.
