Official Review : Chinese New Year's Party @ Viva

What an Awesome party! Welcome to the year of the monkey everyone!

First time out to Viva, and man what a great scene. Problably the best lights&lasers setup Ive seen. Awesome bar setup, and I love how no matter where you are, you can always see the dj mixing.

Walter Rosati kicked off the night with a nice mint set, it was too bad not that many peeps were out to see the start of his set. He dropped some wicked beats.
Madam Zu played one of the best sets Ive heard, whenever I walked off the dancefloor, my legs were numb, I didnt care, she dropped some wicked beats.
Goldfinger ended the night with once again, more hard ass trance/techno.

Phil and I had a great time. Met some cool peeps. Much better scene and atmosphere than the Guv, not that Im becoming a guv basher or anything!

Thanks to Phil for inviting me to this event, and thanks to Itikia for giving Phil the free passes.

And to top off the whole night, I grabbed up a free Above and Beyond set. Mint ass!

Next up. 4 year anniversary @ Tonic
1 week, 3 parties

sick I tell you, sick!

Thumbs up WOW!

WOW! This was the hardest party I've ever heard ... there is no set in my music collection that could even match what Madam Zu did yesterday.

First of all, I have to note that Viva installed some new lazers at the club, and I love lazers!!!! But next time I'll be wearing my sunglasses!!!! WOW - Viva is not only my undesputable favourite club, but they probably have the best lazer and sound system of any club in Golden Horseshoe! This was a perfect night to get wasted! Viva never fails to deliver! Even though this was the smallest crowd I've seen at Viva so far since I started partying there (about 800-850 people at peak time), it was big enough!

DJs:
Walter Rosati had yet another great opening set, with a bit of everything - there was some trance (Nu NRG, Art Of Trance), techno and hard stuff ... I was on the dancefloor for his entire set! Good job Walter! If you are reading this, Mr. Rosati, then I have to say you are a great DJ! I was that guy with Kia hat who said 'TRANCEADDICT' and shook your hand when you were leaving, cause thats the first thing I could think of. Should said how great your set was! See ya at Tonic!

Madam Zu dropped the hardest sickest set I've ever heard in my life! My pants were literally on fire and I danced my butt off! I nearly fainted, and I felt like literally GOT HIGH! That was the closest thing to a rave without actually being one! PERFECT night to get wasted! Me and Hami sat for a good portion of her set, cause it was really really hard and I dont have such a strong heart! Among many quality tunes she dropped, I recall NICK SENTIENCE - FREEDOM and a hard remix of RED PILL, BLUE PILL. I could barely walk even now ...

Goldfinger / Hartec
I am not sure who spun among the two, if not both, they had some great tunes, like Marco V - Indicator!!!!!! WOOO HOOO ... Plus me and Hami were lucky enough to be at the front when there were CD giveaways, and we both got a ABOVE & BEYOND - LIVE IN MIAMI one-track CD!!!

Overall, this was a fantastic night! I've never gotten so dam tired after a party, and I slept 9AM-7PM - !!! And I still feel woozy, even though I didnt do drugs or anything like that. I CANT BELIEVE YOU TAs MISSED THIS AWESOME PARTY!!! THE TICKET PRICE WAS LOWERED TO 15 BUCKS, THATS RIGHT - 15 BUCKS!!!! AT THE DOOR!!!!

Thanks Itikia for making this happen for me and Hami - it was an excellent night indeed. Now, I have to prepare to go to work ... See you all at Tonic this saturday for a 4-year TA anniversary party!!!!

I vowed that the next time Madam Zu was in Toronto I'd be there... But its a little hard to go up to Viva on a wednesday night in the middle of winter with work the next day. But one day I will witness her hard madness.

Hardest night ever at viva? Lady Dana, Hartec + Unabomber.. simply BODNESS!

It's a shame / disappointment that NOONE showed up for the meetup, other than me and Hami. But otherwise, it was such a hard party ... ya, the bass was a bit too strong that night, I dont think I can take more than 1 party a month like that one! Awesome thing they got more lazers ... Holly macaroni ...

There's a good chance I am going to a February/March event(s) at Viva!!! I just hope its some DJ that I really like / very familiar with.
