Armin @ Home, Sydney :)
How good was that?!
Just got home from seeing the MAN play his 5 hour set... Had a f'n great time!
Still can't get over it... Head is still spinning!
What about when he dropped Communication?! And finishing with Airwave + many other memorable moments...
Personally think he went a bit hard in the mid-section - a few tracks that just didn't do much for me (altho the rest of the crowd didn't seem to agree) - but I guess that's to be expected with such a long set - I knew he'd get to the goods eventually
Beautiful return for my $38 spent on the ticket...
Ahhhhhh now to face another day - 4 hours sleep + then off back into dreary old reality again...

awesome night.. armin rocked sublime like it's never been rocked before, and in a way that only HE can.
moment of the night for me had to be when i heard the first note of a classic tune, so I turned to Webbie and go "Hey, isn't that 7 Cities?" and he goes "YEH IT IS!". Then... everyone goes nuts when he pumps it and Armin follows with communication (Webbie spotted that one before me). Craazzyy!!
Highlights ~
Binary Finary - 1998 (Ronski Speed 2003 remix)
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (AVB Remix)
Underworld - Born Slipp NUXX (Paul Oakenfold Remix)
SolarStone - Seven Cities (AVB Remix) <---
Armin van Buuren - Communication <-- phw0ar!
Armin van Buuren - Burned With Desire
Rank1 - Breathing (Breaks Dub) <---
a few singalongs in there which was tops!
great to catch up with a few of you, always fun with madis and hyperd goin nuts! met a few people too (but i don't remember your names/nicks.. too loud and pumping!).
until next time team.. gonna crash now.
the best part of the set for me was when he cranked urban shakedown, OMFG. Going in there tonight it was the one song i would hope he would play (recent obsession with it ;D) and he fuckin did !!!!. I went berserk, it was such an awesome night
Didnt get to meet alot of the TA'ERS, mainly because it was to loud to hear anything haha, but i did manage to find waxology up the front center (yes that was me and tathi ;D) hahah.
Unbelievable night, better than tiesto at mobile in my opinion ;D.
WOW
Sounds like to was awesome!
Wish I could have been there with you all, I can't wait to see all the photo's and videos of the night!
I am so looking forward to hearing the set!!

What a night indeed, the whole set gave me shivers, my best night @ home. A night not to forget in a looooooooooooooooooooong time.
whens the set going to be up
haha i can't wait to listen to it and think, yes, i remember that exact moment. ;D
What an amazing night...
Still a bit hazy now, but i can definitely say that when he dropped 7 cities my night was made, what a moment!!
Easily the best danceable tune was Time to die, that has to be one of the chunkiest club tunes ive ever heard!!!
Didnt spot many ITM'ers/TA's out, but i am quite sure that the ones i did meet were sufficiently scared...
Woooooooooo what a awesome night, i think i froze when Armin walked past to get to his booth. OMG the lazer, the sound...all perfect for the man...was intense.
Fkn was great to meet some TAs again lol...i don't think ill ever meet them all
he also played
Liquid State feat. Marcella Woods - Falling
Rio Klein - Fearless (Push Mix)
also he played Original of Under The sun not Solar Stone Mix...
Unfortunately couldn't stay the whole 5 hours cause of my brother
...ah well, theres always next time..in like 2 years

Tops nite!
I ended up not running into anyone (
) and only seen cameron there but didnt get a chance to say hello.
Ended up deciding not to risk taking my digital camera in so my photos only consist of those from my phone camera, but ill post them up in a day or so.
CHOON of the evening for me was As The Rush Comes! I was video-ing the crowd from the side during the very start of binary finary and my friends dissappeared, so i thought what the hell, and kept dancing away, then heard the very first notes of ATRC so i was running frantically through the crowd trying to find my friends. My apologies to anyone i bumped on the way through :P
Also the night had some other significance for me as i was offered a chance at getting myself a residency at a yet unnamed club in a few months time, so i was bouncing out of my skin!
I was really hanging out for holding onto nothing, but when the mix headed a bit hard towards the middle, we ventured upstairs to cargo for a bit of socialising. Came back down to the sounds of music is life being brought into the mix but we were on teh way out (left at about 4am?)
Tops night, i especially enjoyed jumping jacks short set, can anyone confirm for me if that was a typical set for him? If so, ill be heading over to sublime a bit more often, as ive never been before (only on saturdays)
MattP
sounds like a great night out - would have loved to have been able to make it..
please let us know once the recording is up on the net..
BRING ON LUKE CHABLE NEXT !!!
Well ok heres my rant from last night. I rocked up early at HOME as we needed to setup the recording gear, its amazing seeing an empty club with all the lights going. Anyways we got the gear setup. Then we headed to the terrace which was closed off at this stage.
11:15pm The Terrace, there was a team of guys there with filming gear, they had lights and cameras the works. Our interview was being recorded and we didn't know it, apparently for a webcast. Anyway Armin turns up with his girlfriend and brother, and the funny thing was, they walk through the door and Armin and his GF both point at me, im like what? Hahah then they say "nice shirt" ( I was wearing my Sensation White shirt) and his gf says "did you go" and I replied "of course!"

Anyway the interview got underway and I got a few shots of the interview, along with getting my records signed, with Armin drawing silly stick men with headphones all over them haha
The interview finished and we grabbed a few shots with Armin before we all headed downstairs. I spoke to Armins GF for a while about travelling and how she finds following Armin to events and clubs, seems she likes clubs more than events, she said that the Sublime event far exceeded that of Two Tribes.

Armins brother was a hoot, I think he was quite drunk and was dancing around all night backstage, he was being really friendly to the crowd and getting everything signed that was pushed forward, he even brought some die hard fans into the VIP area hahaha you know who you are. He told me he loves the music also and dj's a bot hahah would love to see armin and his brother vs each other :P
Anyway onto the set. Armin's set can be compared to Tiesto's NYE set and even may be a superior set some may say. Highlights were definitely Singing along to Satellites and going nuts to Super8 - Alba which is my tune of the F@#*en century

Also notable highlights for me were, Robert Nickson - Spiral and Nathan Fake - Outhouse!
His mixing seemed to be flawless, very smooth keyed mixing as shown below.

He was luvin up there, dancing around in between changing records and making silly faces.
Allthough I had to hang around there to change the DAT tapes, I still feel it was an awsome night, wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else, there is too many TA's and ITM's to name! everyone was there.
That's all I can say really, im sure the recording will bring back the memories.
Pee wee kicked off with some hard stuff like Carlo Reesort - Musica and Mike Robbins - Are Youre a Freak, but we packed up our gear and left shortly after.
Other notable highlights, getting mc donalds on the way home

that's a fuckin classic shot , haha
also forgot to mention,
wore my earplugs all night, and when i left i had no ringing what so ever, i thought when i went to bed i would hear something but nope... 100% fine!!!
so glad ive got them now!
Hehehe I think we had the same conversations w/ his GF & Bro hey :P
I can't believe I didn't take my records to get signed, I got at least 5-6, oh well, always next time. (I REALLY didn't want to get my hopes up).
The 1st hour or 2 was WAY To hard for my liking which was what I was expecting him to play but hoped he didn't.
After going for some fresh air( back 2 work), I came back to hear some killer tracks, it seems like I left just as he was bring in the good shiat.
Managed to get a VIP pass, which was great
Certianly a highlight (well changed the night's dynamix anyhow).
Track selection Robert Nickson - Spiral and Burned with Desire were the two track that made my night
Cam: Why'd getting maccas seem so note worthy?
My TL for the night is merged with Cam's
