Starkid - Crayons

Strange i couldn't find a thread on this already. Anyway, i was looking for this record for some time and so i contacted someone at Release Records (the label that released the tune) and i was told it is going to be re-released in the summer on vinyl with new mixes and such. I think the only copies out right now are white label release. Great tune.

omfg. scribblin in the walls mix....... beautiful !

Posted by webbie on Jan-23-2004 21:56:

No, there has been a real official release because I own the vinyl
myself and its not a white or a black.
Great tune.

Yes, this is true. They will be re-releasing it with new mixes. I cant say who is mixing it because Adam (Starkid) will probably fly from Houston just to beat my ass, but they are some names that will make you go WHOA.

Hmm ... if its a trance remix i'm guessing Leama & Moor. C-Quence could probably do a nice remix as well.

One of the best progressive songs around at the moment.

the original and scribbiling on the walls mixes, were awsome, although very similar.(unless that was just my mp3 copies )

I seriously need to hear the Leama and Moore Mix, they absolutly fantastic work.

i think this might actually wear our my repeat button

Posted by arturob on Apr-12-2004 15:56:

OMFG i need to hear !

Posted by auujay on Apr-12-2004 16:30:

Ferry Corsten remix?

Posted by starkid on Apr-14-2004 00:22:

no, tis not your mp3 copies, they're pretty similar

new beat structures in the scribblin mix, new melodies, different intros and outros, was meant more of a modernized reconceptualization than a "remix"

though, i think stylistically they're different enough to call it a remix and get away with it just fine

leama and moor did nice and used parts from both mixes in their remix which is, incredible

habersham and numinous are doing the second mix, breakbeat style

hope you guys like, and maybe even buy this one

and if you like mp3's enough you can buy mp3 copies of the original and scribblin mix for a mere $2.40 or something at www.releaserecords.com

and an old unreleased track of mine is up there too

float on everyone

buying the mp3 right away! vinyls are getting to heavy to bring up to L.A. these days.

Posted by elena on Apr-14-2004 01:48:

such a sick sick track!

Posted by failsafe on Apr-14-2004 03:47:

nice to see that some people are cluing in! selling mp3's what an idea? Who would could ever dream that todays music listiners prefer mp3 format?

nice track.

Posted by Wretched on Apr-14-2004 04:10:

Wasn't Starkid like 15 when he made the track? Maybe I'm imagining things, but I could've sworn I heard that somewhere.

Ok - Checked google. Inspiration for Crayons came when he was 16 and it was released when he was 18. Not bad for someone who can only now go to clubs.

Are the original and scribblin' remix gonna get re-released on vinyl or do i have to keep watching for them on ebay?

Posted by starkid on Apr-14-2004 06:13:

do you know if i can buy the CD single anywhere?

Posted by DJ Tranz on Apr-15-2004 02:49:

This is my favorite remix so far. I can't find it anywhere besides the G&D broadcast. I'd like to get a clean copy of it.
