the over abundance of crappy trance videos

sorry to say to all of you but a majority of trance video that is coming out is pure crap. sometimes a great song will be made into a video but the video sucks ass.

cliche stuff like people driving, partying on the beach, someone looking for a lost love or soemthing in the streets of europe, people dancing on rooftops. ugh!!!!! all crap

i recently saw the video for jurgen vries wilderness. sure it is animations and it's not so called A plus animations but it's much better that what i can do 100 times more. plus it is decently well done and i liek the video. more exciting and more fun to watch.

there has to be some good videos out there.

personally i think trance music shouldnt have videos...its better to close your eyes with the headphones on and let your mind drift away

that is of course MY opinion

I kinda agree with Celica saying trance shouldn't have any videos.
Music videos are made in order to promote a track. Usually to the masses. I prefer the whole situation to be a bit more underground.
Oh well..

I guess it has something to do with the fact that trance isn't quite mainstream yet (bar cheese) so it won't get as much plays on TV either. Therefore it would be quite a waste to spend too much time and/or money for the video.

I'm not interested att all of music videos, I can't remember the last time I saw a music video to a trance tune. So it doesn't matter to me, good videos or bad videos, I only listen to music.

No decent trance will ever have a video clip, apart from maybe Push - Universal Nation

Hey mr. sorry to interrupt your conversation. But i gotta say that not everyone are as lucky as you are that you can catch trance mtvs every 30 mins or something.. We (Referring to those staying in the east) Don't really get any trance shit (including those cheesey trance) everyday, sometime i don't see any in a week... I can't imagine if theres a channel specially for dance/trance/techno mtvs. I think i'll be sticking to the tv most of time!!

Oh yea, I saw that wilderness mtv, Its damn nice. I saw it on Avexnet TV, (that guy escape from a space vehical and wonder around the wilderness getting himself into various troubles and finally found the girl..blablabla). The other mtv i saw on [A] channel and like it alot; Ayu - Connected.

Most trance videos are quite crap really (here we have Rapture TV which shows some trance videos), but I don't really care about the videos. They're mostly for the crappy radio edit versions anyway.

heh, i still remember watching tv once with this chick and making her turn it back because i saw the video for another way... in retrospect it's not really a good video, and i can think of only one track that had a good(good? *great*) video ... ayumi hamasaki - m (above and beyond remix)

Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar
PvD: For an angel, Another way, Forbidden fruit, Tell me why,...
Members of Mayday: 10 in 1
Kai tracid: Liquid skies, Destiny's path,...
There are lots of Tisto tunes that have a clip, the Gouryella project had video clips, Ferry's remixes of Barbers adagio and Ravel's Pavane pour une Infante, System F project, Rank 1, Signum, Vincent de Moor, Three drives, early Mauro Picotto, Minimalistix, other MIKE tunes like strange world etc..., classics like Age of love and Love stimulation, Chicane, Cygnus-X, Delerium - Silence (incl. Tisto rmx)

Does are the first ones that come to mind, and I havn't even watched music channels for a few years now. Of course, maybe none of these are decent trance?

couldn't say it better

you forgot the two biggest cliches: people running in slow motion, or partys with hundreds of hot girls, gangsta hip-hop video style. not that i don't like hot girls but 'artistically' it's pure crap.

Not trance, but the best videos for dance music come from The Chemical Brothers.

star guitar - best electronic video i've ever seen!

Hey Boy Hey Girl and Get Yourself High as well. Elektrobank is good too.

The video for the Test was awesome. very trippy even though it does have that rave scene in the end. very surreal thoughout the whole clip though

i do wish more trance video's had more anime influenced style. not necessarily a cartoon but something with both action and a dramatic plot. IMO it would be 10x better than the same old party scenery where everyone is all happy waving their glowsticks like morons
