I agree with Rocco 100%
Big deal if a trance song gets played on 1035? Are people that listen to the radio not allowed to hear trance, like its some sort of exclusive genere?
As far as I'm concerned trance on the radio is a good thing because it provides a gateway, an entrance point, for people to get into the music. For example, lets say a typical 16 year old z1035 listener hears "as the rush comes," likes it, and then looks for it online. When they look for it online, remixes by say Armin or Gabriel and Dredson show up. So now this 16 year old is exposed to proper trance and starts to explore it more. What I'm trying to say is who cares if one of the more catchy trance tunes filters into the mainstream? If it has the potential to bring more supporters into a scene that defantely needs them, then I say 'bring it on!'

I thught that was a valid point. maybe the same thing has been said a million times over in previous threads, but I'm relatively new to TA, so I was merely sharing how I felt on the issue.
bah!
these threads are so tiresome. i feel i'm writing this for the millionth time. people complain they hear their favourite tracks on Z103. so what? it validates your track is cheese? who cares! i would love it if radio stations played trance and prog all day. while in ibiza, there were numerous radio stations playing ELECTRONICA all day. there were house, jungle, d&b, ambient, prog and trance radio stations. if this is the precursor, then great, if not, who cares! and you really wonder why you're listening to Z103 in the first place? i have Z103 as one of my presets in my car. i guess i'm a sellout...
well there were many threads about this. i'm just dispointed with the maturity levels on TA.
who cares? Ginos exist, 103.5 exists, trance on radio happens. Let us check all my primary priorites after such so called 'trance' was played on the radio:
0) my family and I are in good health
1) i am still passing my program at school
2) my mommy still loves me (even though i'm not the best kid)
3) i live in a nice house with a wall above me, a closet full of clothes and a comfortable warm bed to rest at night
4) my fav record store brings in my fav. tracks and they're still open
5) absolut citron is still legal in ontario and prices haven't changed for as long as i remember
secondary priorites:
1) tranceaddict is operational for the last 4 years
2) my fav music for the past 6 years was EDM and always will be EDM
3) all my friends are healthy and alive.
4) i dunno i'm rambling on and on.... refer to primary priority #5

I think it's a good sign that ATRC is #1.. It's shitty that they play this crappy radio-edit, but it's still better than some shit hip-hop or r'n'b song being at #1.
I don't know about you, but I am dreaming about a party in sky-dome or air canada center with 3 or 4 headliners. However such a party is impossible until tracks like "As the rush comes" get significant airplay on Canadian radiostations.
^^^^^^
we always have HOT SUMMER RUSH @ Canada's Wonderland to look forward to this year...
the EDM we listen to, will never become mainstream in canada. and that is a good thing.
