too many cheesey tracks with vocals.

cut those out and the set was half decent

yeah so many more vocals than usual.. although i guess after seeing the responses to the 2 tracks he played at the start of his set (andain - beautiful things & sarah mclachlan - fallen) its understandable!

Posted by escee on Jan-26-2004 05:39:

by the way, how good was infusion - running up that hill in metros. owned me.

Posted by radicool on Jan-26-2004 08:22:

portishead - roads (sultan & tone depth remix)

FUCKING TOPS...

someone fainted towards the end on the left side of the stage....

Armins set rocked!! One of the best sets I've seen in a long time, great track selection, programming, mixing and variety.

The atmosphere was electric!

Head severly broken now Must get sleep

hehe yeh, would have loved to hear Time To Say Goodbye at Sydney, ah well.

The track itself is well... beautiful, much better construction on the guitars than Touched By The Sun and Sunset Highway... but my only downer towards Envio songs are well they sound too much alike, just sounds like a different guitar being used on top of a already made song...

anyways sounds like top night... nice one

unfknblvbl set

Posted by leet123 on Jan-27-2004 01:03:

Fucking unreal nite!

I thought the local boys did a good job warming up, nice work adam kelly!

Avb didnt dissapoint. He dropped awesome track after awesome track, one of the best sets i have ever heard!

I completely lost the plot when he played satelite! god dam that song was awesome live. You could just feel the electricity in metros! And when he dropped for an angel.... well, what can I say! I think everyone just about died!

Best $30 i have ever spent!

Posted by novastorm on Jan-27-2004 02:00:

exceptional set, up there with the best i have seen .. and such good value spent under $100 for the whole night!

lets not forget he played Robert Nickson - SpiRal and how good was that! Tunes of the night for me were
motorcycle - atrc (avb remix)
firewall - sincere (pulser remix) .. for the love of jeebus, why didnt he play Kilimanjaro too!! ah well..
st john vs lokust - mindcircles .. almost brought tears to my eyes
cern - the message .. i had been longing to hear this played live since i first laid ears on it and omffffg!
and of course oceanlab-satellite

Can anyone tell me what that tune he played first was?? heard it at tiesto@sunshine people and it blew my mind there as well with that massive waily riff that fills ur entire head .. its not a mark norman is it?

a night that will live in my memory forever.. except for Time to Say Goodbye which i dont remember hearing! arghhh!! im sure i enjoyed it tho

australia day was such a letdown after this... in fact oz day this year was a letdown compared to anything =( strange how ppl can become so much like animals but anyway im sure this is for another thread!

Greatest night ever

Posted by calum on Jan-27-2004 04:50:

Did anyone see the fucking dickhead who threw their fluffy orange jacket onto the decks while armin was mixing??

That tool really deserves to be smashed for that - it really gives perth a bad name. It was like the idiot that threw a glowstick at ferry last year (or the year before?).

I was intending on going to south perth foreshore for australia day, but glad I didnt by the sounds of things.

Posted by Antistatic on Jan-27-2004 04:55:

hmmm I missed seeing the guy that chucked his jacket onto the decks. What a tool! I couldn't help myself laughing at the 2 chicks who got up and started dancing either side of Armin until security kicked them off the stage.

Probably my favourite event I've been to.

Posted by Boredom on Jan-27-2004 05:12:

can anyone tell me the name of the 2 choons Armin played at the end? esp that last track it was so uplifting i felt shivers up my spine

also remembered he played lili haydn - anything (g&d mix??) but too bad without the vocals.

why cant armin just live in perth?

He's probably staying with his parents this week, notice he organised a week without gigs after Perth?

Ergo he sort of is living in Perth....

He did play it in Sydney, in the first 5 or so tracks.

He didn't play any Envio sounds as far as i remember.

That guitar song he played was Whirlpool - Under The Sun

Posted by REVERIE on Jan-27-2004 06:43:

Loved it at the end when he came out front of stage and starting jumping around,
then leaned over the decks from the front and kicked in the bass

Posted by Huebor on Jan-27-2004 07:07:

Ok.

I had two Tranceaddicts say g'day to me (one I may have met before?) on the night ..

Umm.. anyone wanna own up? hehe.. I was too mashed (from 3 hours sleep since friday morning) and I've forgotten.. I have a picture of one of you .. hehe.
