BS on the headphones. The V900's arent that great for DJ use, and arent that great overall. I would get the Ultrasone Edition7 for 3 grand. Yes, $3000 US Dollars. I'd take those over some more expensive headphones that don't seem to be closed or very isolating... cause those are the best that seem to be dj style.. others dont isolate a lot... www.meier-audio.de www.edition7.com

Hm, you didn't mention the few grand worth of tube amp to run em!

Posted by Narcissus on Jan-28-2004 03:44:

I'm using
Technics MK2 1200(a 1210 would have been good though)
Vestax PMC170A - chrome mixer s you have to look after it more or it gets rusted
Ortofon concorde pro s
Technics RPDJ1210
dodgy speakers
I'm very happy with my set up but whatever you do MUST get Final Scratch...after having hesitated and checking on forums and pm-ing people i got it and i'm very happy with the decision made. Top system!

For the ortofons you can go with the nightclubs. For the mixer you can also add the Allen and Heath Xone 62 or even the 92 hehe

Bah! I'll get someone else from head-fi to do that... I cant do EVERYTHING, now, can I?

Posted by ludeboy12 on Jan-28-2004 06:56:

yea though most prefer the pio cdj1000mkII becasue the cdj1000 was out first and hence in all the clubs first the Denon DN-s5000 is far more superior than the pio cdjs....

also when looking at top mixer choices the top mixers are the djm600 the xone62 and now maybe the new denon dn-x1500...i've seen many demo vids on the denon and it is a VERY nice mixer with A LOT of nice features.....plus it utilizes all new technology whereas the djm is more old school....

dunno how much people will care about all this really as most think that since clubs use it (becasue they have for sooo long and are scared to change for fear teh djs wont know what to do) it is the best....

blah....

ok, here is the makings of my wet dream:

4x 1200 m5g
4x Ortofon Pro nightclub S
2x Those Prototype Technics CDJs
1x Rane MP-2016 Rotary Mixer
1x Rane XP-2016 External EQ
20x Sony MDR-V700 (in case mine ever break i will have tons of backups, sorry guys i know everyone hates them, but i love these Phones.)

Full Phazon soundsystem

yeah i think that would do it

Amplifayer & Speakers

1x - CROWN CE4000 POWER AMPLIFIER - 1200 $
4x - MACKIE PROFESSIONAL POWERED MONITOR - 2800 $

well thats dumb. being that they are powered they don't need a amp

anyway my dream setup atm

xone:92
3 technics 1200's
2 cdj 1000
all the elextrix effect units and a korg kaoss pad
2 krk v8's

Posted by Freak on Jan-28-2004 14:43:

Okies
heres mine:

-3 x Technics 1200 mk 2
-Ortofon nightclub 'S' concordes
-Cloud CXM mixer- use these in most of the clubs i work in nowadays and they are the best ive ever used- beats pioneers, vestax the lot .New allen&heath looks good, but not used so cant comment
-Denon 2600F/2800f twin cd player-i personally cant stand CDJ type cd players and vinyl emulation crap
-Pioneer HDj 1000 'phones
Not fussed about monitor- as long as its got a punch and decent volume its cool

Basically what i use at the mo- it works extremely well together and no useless add ons and fancy thigns to go wrong

Why?

'Cuz the XONE-464 has 6 channels. If you have that many options, you might as well hook up three tables. I'd hook up 3 TECHS just for the h3ll of it! It adds another dimension to spinning in my opinion. Instead of going back and forth on two decks, you have a third table to use as well.

And I don't need a BPM counter. That's what my ears are for.

i'm happy what i've got, but if i had the money i'd get myself:
two denon single cd player thingies
a third Akiyama Acura deck
a xone 62 mixer
3 shure whitelabels
finalscratch + laptop
some nice monitors (syrincs m3-220)

My Setup Now:

-----------------------------
2 x Numark TTX1s

Pioneer DJM-600s

2 x Stanton Trackmaster II-RS

Final Scratch + Laptop
------------------------------

Face it, Im happy. If studio recordin is your game go with the TTX1s
they're better than the Techs :P

Does any1 know anything about the Numark Dimension 3 / 4 amp? Im looking to buy it (for bedroom and small venues). Any thoughts on this? Is it a suitable amp?
