Time to Burn (JOC NYE Edit)
hey guys well most of u might have noticed this in my sig for the last while, its a hard remix of time to burn i made especially for a gig i played NYE-the aim was to destroy the dancefloor(in a traffic-y kinda way),which it did!

not bad, i was expecting to hear a more melodic version but instead i get a technoish kinda thing...
seems a bit too basic to me, the bass has no variation, along with the percs, sorry.
overall not bad, although this just isnt my cup-o-tea.
I think this is quality considering it was made for a 1 off event!
Needs some dirty bass changes tho!
Comments:
-Kick sounds good in the mix but a little unprocessed solo.
-That panned effect is awesome.
-Bassline sounds a little weak IMO, have heard better from you =P
-Lethal sounding snare roll at 1:45, lots of power.
-Breakdown is cool, I love the minimal feel of it.
-Nice buildup, can really see this working on the dancefloor.
Cool minimal piece of music here; I bet it serves it's purpose nicely. I think the bassline could be better, aside from that this is really cool.
i had to download cause i used to love the original...
i love that rolling snare at 2:30...i was getting bored with the saw pad well before 2:50 but now i'm intrigued by its bounciness... and now i love it at 3:15...building up... getting ready (not much in the low end right now btw)...3:51 is the payload, very nice. ooh wait, still building...4:20... this better get crazy or i'm gonna be disappointed..4:40, getting softer, no wait, 4:55 getting loud again... i'm ready...5:10 more snares! oooh another payload... but its the same as the last one, same saw pad. its missing some mids or something...
i like it alot and wouldve been happy to here it for the event it was made for and been really excited, but not too many replays for me.
nm
not my style at all so i may be a tad biased, but i thought it was really boring and tbh i would have never noticed it was a remix of time to burn if i hadnt have known, i think it could do with the bassline changing like the original and a few sample of the vox in there :thumbs
Hmmm
Disappointed id say, I've heard some stuff by ya John and i felt let down. You've produced some quality so far (remix of elude so far i love). This feels well basic, so much so that i could hardly recognise what this was. Update with the bass changes and maybe another lead on top of the original riff? The perc's is good but like i said needs beefing up a bit more pal!
Hi there first of all i wud like to say that i think you could have improved the way you brought in you percussion and bass line for instance in the 1st 20 or 30 seconds you cud have used some reverses or crashes to introduce the percussion and like other people have sed , was expecting more of a melody to this one not a bad effort tho 7/10
dont mean to highjack the thread, but nickmahoney...love the sig bro

yeah guys, its more of an edit than a remix-i done it literally in about 2 hours purely for the dancefloor appeal at the gig, not much musical focus on this (hence the flat bass) and lack of instruments, but it served as a good DJ tool to end a set. by no means a proper 'remix' by my normal efforts

always new stuff on the way, and some stuff coming on vinyl so watch out!!!
Pretty good, but I think it could have been better. I think the lead sound needs to be more massive sounding, a bit harsher like the original. The second build is very good but I think there's not anything big enough changing at the end of it.
Good, but with more time spent on it, it could be great.

This was made to get people dancing their arses off in a club, and as a 'dancefloor destroyer' it's a proven success; it works in that context. Take it out of that context, though, and unfortunately it loses much of its appeal. But who cares? It served its purpose, and you were never passing it off as anything but an edit made for a specific time and place. So, nice work!
Exactly what MaRt said......
percussion is sketchy... it hurts me ears!! other than that, well made. : P
