Exam cheating tactics...

ok folks, lets hear it. How do you work your magic ? A friend of mine who double majored in Business and Marketing as class president would use the email phones and somehow transfer it to his palm pilot, so he would always have all the answers before tests. I know, its morally wrong, yata yata yata... but im beginning to not think so as I look around my classroom during test periods and see everyone looking off everyones papers. Just for memorization, I will write on my hand and periodically look, or write in pencil on a desk and then erase when im finished. I DO study to learn all the material as a whole, but it's just for those tiny, insignificant factors that I take the easy way out, such as dates, formulas, tables etc... How about you ? I dont want any 'CHEATING IS WRONG' answers either. Thanks !! Due to the MAJORITY of cheaters, I feel im at a disadvantage for future plans. Thats my excuse...

That's a stupid excuse.

Posted by torontotrance on Jan-30-2004 18:22:

simply don't cheat.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-30-2004 18:24:

yeah...

i've never needed to cheat because i'm smart...why don't you just study??

Posted by {b.s.e.} on Jan-30-2004 18:29:

Eh, I'm smart too and will tell you that I've cheated my way through an entire accounting course in high school. Why? I will never ever use that information again. HA. I say cheat if you aren't going to be latterly affected in life by the results..

Plagerising, that's the only form of cheating that is truly dishonorable.

I do study. I had a 4.0 in college last semester and currently am obtaining a 4.0 as I speak WITHOUT cheating. Yes, it is morally wrong. I know this. I don't need you to tell me the obvious. But it really pisses me off when the class president is being acknowledged for their extravagent work, when it wasn't even their own, or they paid someone to do it. I dont feel my excuse was ignorant in the least, ITS THE TRUTH. Everywhere I see others cheating and making the grade. What if one day they get the job opportunity that I didn't ??? You may say "karma." Whatever! I'm just being honest. I've seen it happen time and time again. I'm in college now and haven't cheated since High School. It's just that yesterday, I talked to a friend who was president of his class AT A UNIVERSITY and was telling me the ways he cheated. Give me a break. Face it, to make it these days in society, honesty is NOT the answer. Yes, its a degredation of self, but shit, who really focuses on the inner self anymore ?

well, college makes it harder to cheat (multiple forms of the exam...), but one time my senior year of high school i must say i pulled off the best cheat ever. it was for my spanish class, and i obv hadnt studied. before hand, i wrote like every vocab word and verb tense on a tissue. i pretended i was sick and had a runny nose, so i kept wipping out the tissue and would take a sneak peak at it. hahah it was great, got an A on the test and the teacher never suspected!!

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-30-2004 18:42:

cheating in highschool is one thing....i don't care about that, but cheating in college isn't a good idea...

Posted by KilldaDJ on Jan-30-2004 18:43:

Exclamation

LoL.. must not have been a very big final A friend of mine also cheated on his spanish final exam, they cut straight to the chase though. The teacher left the room and they stole the final and ran off a bunch of photocopies. She never found out lmao. Personally I've never had an urge to cheat, but if you do it's your own perogative

I just wrote 3 diplomas last week. Cheated on one and did the rest myself. Im going into engineering so i wrote my math and physics test bymyself. When it came to social studies on the other hand. I couldnt care less. It was easy. Just takes split second looks.

Posted by loca on Jan-30-2004 19:50:

too scared to cheat myself but one way i know people do it is:

Take a bottle of water/juice/whatever so long as its clear plastic, write on the inside of the label. Every once in a while if you feel you need to look up something, pretend you're taking a swig of the bottle.

I've seen people doing this is my last exam session in my uni.

It's a dangerous thing to do but if you're willing to risk getting caught, which i'm not, then feel free to try.

Posted by blank on Jan-30-2004 21:07:

oh cool..i need to cheat in second round of exams as im really fucked up. 0 to 7 lessons so far :|

Posted by Nabistai on Jan-30-2004 21:13:

Don't cheat!

I cheated de last 2 years in highschool for french, every single test I cheated, I had good points, butI wasn't THAT good in French at the end...

Posted by Nabistai on Jan-30-2004 21:22:

btw if you DO decide to cheat, a small piece of paper with al your stuff on is still the best way to go, put it in your pocket and place it in your hand during the test, you can open your hand half, and point it at you face. From teachers view it appears as if your hand (not the one you write with) is just lying on your paper/table, while you can simple read whatever it is the shit you need to study.

No bullshit like writing on your tampax (or whatever that stuff is women put down there), pants, bottles of water, rigged watches, pieces of papers attached to rope and whatever other bullshit I have heard people say (not necesserily on this board)

Posted by Dmatrox on Jan-30-2004 21:31:

I dont cheat, id rather not have to see the Dean.

There are usually multiple version of exams where questions are in different order, or if its written, the questions are in different order.

How the hell do you get answers before the exam?

And why are you even allowed to have palms and phones to use during an exam?

Posted by Omegasox on Jan-30-2004 22:33:

Just because other people cheat doesn't mean you should stoop to their low standards. So yes, it is a stupid excuse. How can you feel any sort of pride in your work if you cheated to achieve it? You can give me all the reasons in the world, you can say every single person cheats except for you, I still won't buy into it. Cheating is the easy way out and is for pussies. End of story.

Posted by DjSimonB on Jan-30-2004 23:59:

I don't cheat, I'd be too afraid to get caught, if you get caught cheating here you automatically fail all your exams, too big a risk to take...

Posted by Resnick on Jan-31-2004 00:17:

lol are u non cheating ppl will lose out on scholarships, university spots, masters programs, and jobs in the long run, not to mention u can party ur ass off for as long as u want...and ur talking about pride??

Posted by smokeape on Jan-31-2004 00:28:

By hook or by crook or by any studying method utilized, the end result is the same. You get a sheepskin. It helps you get a job, but doesn't teach you about the job you will actually be doing for the next 20-30 years. That takes hands-on experience. If you can't learn while on the job, you're simply fired and you get another. They never really question your qualifications or how you got there after you get in the door.
