Hey Scottie,

Hate to always nag @ you, but why's the file name so short? Where's all the extra information (about the ripping group, where it came from, the date, and most importantly WHAT hours [or part] this is).

Come time to merge the files it's just going to be that little be more annoying, and a little extra work to convert the file back.

Can understand the quality drop, a shame, but what can you do when you're about to cope a belting, lol.

--djway

PS Thanks to Cameron for the rip

when i get the DAT's im ripping them at 320CBR, if ppl dont like it ... then tough they can put the bitrate down themselves.... haha cause the quality is amazing!

The MD ATRAC algorithim is equal to about 141kb/s (@ 1x)so you won't hear the difference on your MD (as you'll have it in 2x @ least). The quality drops down even lower to about ~128kb/s.

Listen 2 it on your speakers @ home, you WILL hear a difference if u play the same file @ 128, 192, 256 kb/s.

Thanks Wax!

Thought I'd be having to put up with my radio ripped version with all the voice overs, etc for a little while longer... That Mencky bloke tries a little too hard doesn't he?!

Let's just hope they play the remaining hours in the near future

You're not too late man. My ears ring 24*7 (even worse after my trip - something is still stuffed w/ them).

But, since the ATRAC family of codecs are completely different algorithms from MP3, 141kbit ATRAC will have different properties and quality of a 141kbit MP3 encoding. I used to love MD for it's portability and all that, but I find the sound quality to be terrible, missing bass and just sounding lo-fi in general.

(Thanx Scotty)

^^^^^ this is the 192kb/s RIP

Posted by starsurfer on Feb-02-2004 04:53:

Heya Wade,

just rename the file once you download it to that full length one that Cam supplied:

armin_van_buuren_@_sublime_home_23-01-04_(nova969)-dpc_merk.mp3

My server didn't support the name for some reason

I'll get those other two files up as well Cam, just waiting on my server to be not so busy hehe!

Scott

Yeah, true, I was just trying to point out that it wouldn't be @ 192kb/s

i think scotty has removed it now but it shows that the server does handle the file name.... so u can just have the 128 rip (booo! haha j/k) up there in that formatt now that we know it works..

Posted by starsurfer on Feb-02-2004 05:12:

nope, that link shouldn't work - that's the original folder that Cam posted up.

all the files are:

MP3:
http://whiterabbit.trancetribe.com/..._home_23-01-04_(nova969)-dpc_merk.mp3

Tracks:
http://whiterabbit.trancetribe.com/..._home_23-01-04_(nova969)-dpc_merk.txt

Data:
http://whiterabbit.trancetribe.com/..._home_23-01-04_(nova969)-dpc_merk.sfv

I got the long file name to work, before it replaced all the underscores with % signs!

Scott

the reason is because not eveyone was there, so if they get a file just saying arminsublime you'd be like... wtf! especially people around the world. so the more details the easier it is.
