Why Does NYC Trance Scence SUCK?

Can Someone answer this question.

There is not one Decent Trance club in all of manhattan, Why?

We get no DJ's spinning anywhere, maybe oakey at HAMMERstein, give me a break.

Twilo's Closed, and they didn't get consistent dj's, PVD was phat though

Sound and Jonathan Peters have gone so comeercial so they dont get shut down.

Exit is Ghetto, dirty as all hell.

I hate stepping on needles at the tunnel.

WHERE Can I go to here some decent trance, I have been going to Washington and Miami, jesus expensive and far.

well i agree there really isnt any good trance djs in the city. still that comment about jp and factory is quite wrong. he has changed his style...not commercial...more like every other day dj in nyc that is all of sudden riding on teneglia's dick. i went two wks ago...6-8am great techno...after one of the most stupdiest samples ive ever heard (playing to his ego i guess) the music went nowhere. deep house for hrs. i wanted to kill someone. its not commercial...its just boring music.

The only reason why it sucks here is because the producers only care about money and not the fame of music like that in europe. *Cough digital allies yeck..* Also sucks now is Twilo closed so blah there goes one of the best clubs in the world. Also "Mayor is trying to shutdown anything that doesn't fit NYC". Hehehe I need to put that on my T-shirt lol. Good one

You guys are lucky you're not in the south. The south sucks! I moved from NYC to Atlanta for school and work. Let me be the first to tell you, nothing goes on down here for 6 months. I live in the biggest southern city and all I get is cheesy 1 year old pop/dance. I use to fly back up to Twilo every other month for PVD to get my fill. Everyone skips the south and goes to Miami :/

Anyways... moral of the story. The south sucks, and PVD is coming to Atlanta, October 11. And if he goes to NYC, I'll fly up for a visit. =)

It's not just NYC.... trance has little popularity in all of the USA... Chicago has no trance scene whatsoever, 'raves' are completely illegal in Chicago.... it's terrible. People here are so sheltered that when they hear trance, they only think "drugs." F that noise!

So when I see those TranceEnergy videos posted here, I just start drooling, and it reminds me of my trips to London.
....which is why my friends and I put up with the 9 hour drive to Toronto 4-5 times a year to really party... at the Guvernment, and other places to see Tiesto, PVD, Kimball Collins, etc...
This country is so wrapped up in cheesy commerical music, Britney Spears, and other low-end cheap-ass ghetto shit like RAP/HIPhop...
....I just want to puke.

Yeah, Paul Van Dyk was here in Chicago last Thursday... but he spun at 'The House of Blues....' ohh ok, thats a small ass venue, not even worth going to because it was sold out. The name of the venue just tells you how the USA music emphasis is so different from the rest of the world.

check out twiloboss's commentary on the twilo website, if it's still up. very interesting reading. i actually got some ppl to 'convert' to trance after they read it..
