Just wanted to let you all know that Ferry Corsten is the headliner for this weekends Essential Mix on Radio 1! I'm pretty sure that this is a recent addition. He done one back in 2000, which was his first, and as ive looked in this thread not many ppl know about. Im 24 on Sunday and what better way to celebrate while glued to Radio 1..

essential mix is a two hour show on the UK radio station BBC Radio 1 broadcast between 2am-4am (GMT) SUndays. Each week there is a 2 hour mix from a dj sometimes a studio mix othertimes live or a live recording. In the past year there has been many trancey essnetial mixes eg: Marco V, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, AvB, Adam Sheridan, Gabriel and Dresden, Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, i could go on.

I would say the majoirty of essential mixes are house and the trance that is played is often more progressive
