Reverse Cymbal - How do I create?

Having serious problems creating a decent reverse cymbal.

Using Fruity Loops, and yes I know, I can hit the reverse button, but its not really giving the effect I want.

Want a long reverse effect.

Any1 wish 2 help me out?

I'd recommend doing reverse cymbals and similar type effects externally in a program like CoolEdit/Audition or SoundForge, and then bringing them into your track once you're happy with their sound as samples.

Sounds like gud advice, not sure on how to stretch the sample.

I have sound forge so will play about with stretching some cymbal sounds.

Any1else have any other ideas, tutorials etc.

I use Audition so can't help you out with SoundForge, but as a general point of advice I think it's well worth your time to get to know your audio editing program like the back of your hand.

Definitly.. I used sound forge for about a year before I figured out the concept of using it to master entire tracks.. the FX that come with it are great especially the EQs and the Wave Hammer...

I will be spending much time learning sound forge then!

I only really use it @ the moment for time-stretching and some minor effects.

Wonder if there are any books out for it?
