What's going on with the Xbox?
hehe Game Cube beat out the Xbox for the number two position in sales. Now the order goes:
1st place: ps2
2nd place: Game Cube
3rd place: xbox
I knew that it was coming. If you think about it, the xbox is basically getting all the "hand me downs" from the ps2. Yeah, yeah, yeah you can argue but it's true. I deal with videogames all day because i work at a videogame store. You begin to see games that were released on the ps2 for over a year releasing on the xbox just now. For example: Mafia just released on the ps2 (yeah i know it was released on the pc in 2002) a few weeks ago, it's coming to the xbox on the 25th of Feb. Microsoft better pick up the pace.
Every day I wish more and more that I had boughten a ps2 instead of an xbox.
GameCube sold the most in Dec 2003 
yep...xbox is bein left behind with some of the games bein released on the PS2 and the GameCube...odd isnt it?
just like nintendo knew and microsoft assumed.
nintendo knew people would want a good, cheap system with great games.
microsoft assumed they could give people a VCR sized computer and graphics would rule over all.

you know there's something wrong when you have a game like halo selling for 29.99 when it's really supposed to be a greatest hit and sell for 19.99
XBox is failing, face it. It has been failing on a global scale ever since it released, I believe only in the states is it doing fairly well. No loss for me though, I really dislike the XBox.
There are a few XBox developers who left the team too since it released.
Now, on to Nintendo. They realize that they don't make the bulk of their money on console sales. The majority of the money they make comes from the games that they produce (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc.) They've always been on top of their game when it comes to marketing, something SEGA continues to struggle with. That new handheld they're coming out with, the "DS" I believe, will probably be a flop though (at least in the US).
I was shocked to see the XBox do so well at the beginning, but it seems it finally is falling to where it should be. It's nothing but PC graphics on a console. The games are nothing extraordinary, and most of the good ones are made for multiple systems. The only thing people ever say when asked why XBox is so good is "Halo!".
PS2 is easily the best system in my opinion and I don't even own one anymore. I bought a Gamecube simply because a lot of their games are garbage, but I grew up on Nintendo and Super NES and love the franchise games such as Mario, Metroid, F-Zero, etc. I don't have much time to play games, or much money, so I'd rather pick up a few incredible games than a ton of good games that I can't afford and don't have time to play anyway. The only thing that bothers me is Square going almost exclusively to Sony. Thankfully I finished FFX before selling my PS2 and now FFCC is coming out for GC.
XBox loses out in all categories in my opinion.
I'm surprised to see that so many people are on the same page as I am. I was expecting someone to come out and say some thing like "PS2 suck and Xbox rules" and all this other garbage.
The only game that I like on the Xbox was shenmue 2. I loved the original on the dreamcast and I love part 2 on the xbox, other than that I hate xbox.

Hmm, I think the big problem with Xbox is the lack of Japanese support... many of the quality exclusive games for PS2 and GC come from Japan, while there are only 2 Japanese developers that are in hardcore support of the Xbox - Tecmo and SEGA.. Ninja Gaiden looks fairly interesting (the originals are some of my favorite games of all time), and Shenmue 2 looks awesome (LOVED the first one)... Panzer Dragoon Orta was a great game.. but unfortunately, Xbox doesn't really have the selection of the PS2 or the Gamecube. It's nice to see Cube finally outsell the Xbox though. Oh well, my favorite system lately has been the GBA

all i know is i love my gamecube.
Metroid prime has such good replayability, especially if you know how to sequence break (ie. get space boots as the first item in the game)
DOA3 is a good xbox game, xbox's are fun to take apart, more so than the other 2 systems, but most games on the xbox are also on PC, so there is little point to buying one
To me gamecube is the one coming out with the best gameplay, which I argue is the most important thing in video games. That Pac-Man vs thing is soooooooooooo much fun, the only new pac man that is worth getting.
PS2 is nice cuz it can play dvd's and psone games and has some nice other games on it, but Ive never really been a fan of sony and their playstation because most of the games aren't anything new, car racing and RPG's and such that have all been tried before.
But in the end it doesnt really matter which one I like the most, I would get all of them if I had the money, but I'll stick with my computer for now

and if you have an xbox and dont like it, then please throw it away or give it away or something because you dont deserve it

DJ Afro Thunder, you just need to settle down. saying "I hate xbox" is a bit fanboy-ish.
it does have some quality titles and it beats the other two in online stakes hands down. It's RPGs aren't as good as ps2 and there aint no mario zelda or samus there. Each console has their strengths but to say "I hate it" is a bit extreme.
Did xbox date your sister and cheat on her? Did xbox scam your grandfather out of thousands of dollars? No. So just chill out. If people own one and like it just let it be instead of getting angry at them and asking them to justify it to you.
They only reason why i'm not a big fan of the xbox is because they cause all this hype behind certain titles but within two weeks of the game's release date it gets pushed back. Just recently ninja gaiden was scheduled to release on feb 27, it just got pushed back until the end of march. Halo 2 was suposed to release this month also, but what happens? It gets pushed back until fall of 2004. If Gates said all this stuff about the xbox he should have something that actualy back up what he says. Halo, yeah its an awesome game, but yo only can play it for so long before you want something new.
Don't get me wrong, I like how the system has a built in hardrive but like i said, I (along with others) want titles that are new, fresh, something that hasn't been done before.
ha the only reason for me to get a gamecube is twin snakess, but my roomate has gcube so iu dun need it, and ps2 is tight has gt4 and mg3 coming out, and xbox has way tight games like, sc ghost, tenchu, rallisport2, halo 2, ninja gaiden, fullspectrum warrior, im gona go ahdea say i liek xbox best then ps2 and gamcube skrew that

ive owned my psx2 for 3 years and i have 27 games

the reason the xbox sucks is because microsoft is not innovative.
there are no good games because they dont take risks. i'm really pissed off about this because they just cancelled the xbox live game i was working on, and had been for 3 years.
they didn't understand that in order to be the first online console publisher you need to be innovative.
so thanks alot fucksoft! thanks for getting us all fired and making half my friends leave the country. i'm definitely getting a PS3 not some fucking xenon piece of shit.
MS never intended to have a dominant market share. They also knew they wouldn't make any money at all from this generation of consoles. They are in it for the long run. The Nextbox is what its all about, and its been that way since day one.
Besides, my hacked box runs Microsoft media center better than any sub-$1000 Home theatre component
