-- my world tour?

Posted by diego on Feb-09-2004 15:36:

my world tour?

I'm planning to do a semi-working world tour at the end of this year for about 1-2 years.

i haven't quite fully decided yet where i want to go, except nz, oz, miami, new york, figi, hawaii, sf, vietnam, rio.

i plan working for 2-3 months in some places and spending shorter periods in others just holidaying/partying.

i defo want to do surfing&snowboarding in some places.

could you guys give me ideas where you'd recommend just visiting & places where'd be good to work (ie. places where theres lots to do, has regular partying life etc.)?

thanx

there are, such as trailfinders and usit, but they'll only do trips which must be completed within 12 months and i want to go for longer, as well as that they don't decide where i go, i do.

prob will get a ticket with trailfinders anyway, and get another one when 12 months are up.

Yeah I second the idea of goin to asia. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam are DIRT-CHEAP and awesome fun. HK is great for shopping. Japan is a cultural experience, but expensive. Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet are cool if you're into that sort of thing.

Go to Nepal, in my opinion the most butiful country in the world. (Not that I've been there )

However don't set foot inside tibet, you will be funding the chinise communist regime who invaded Tibet and destroyed pretty much all of the Tibetens cultural heritge and slaughted manmy Tibetens forcing the Dali Lama into exile. Tibet is ruled by evil people, stay away. (They have world class mountaineering there and I don't wanna vist, that says a lot about how evil the Chinese are.)

True, but it's still an amazing cultural experience... So people tell me. Apparently people still keep hidden pics of the Dalai Lamma in their houses, despite it being banned by the PRC authorities.

youd better be a pretty acomplished surfer... for tavarua I almost did a surf trip last year. Was gonna incluse costa rica, Hawaii, South africa, and austrailia... Ended up id rather save the cash for something else.

Rasta

Puerto rico....san juan has an amazing party scene...lots of hot ladies...

ricon, PR is a prime surfing location....cheap as all hell too.
They have this one place where surfers stay with a backpack, surf board, bunk beds provided blablabla...

and its really beautiful..

thats one of my suggestions..

Greece is a beautiful country to visit... maybe you could DJ on the island of Mykonos or something during the summer? You may want to look into that in advance though as it's a pretty popular island and may be full if you inquire too late. Not really a sufring/snowboarding country though.
