I was wondering if the bouncers at sona are always assholes cuz some friends and I were really looking forward to seeing Max Graham there but instead we ended up waiting outside for an hour and then being told we had to have tickets to get in (which was OBVIOUSLY bullshit). WWhat the fuck was up with that? No offense, but shit like that doesn't happen in NY. The biggest asshole outta everyone was the idiot with the cargo's and the blue shirt that was standing there telling his bitches which people to let in...sorry for the excessive foul language.

Dude I'm totally sorry about that.. Sona bouncers are bullshit, but the club is good neverless. I hate Sona for that because when I go (without girls that is) I get in a load of shit and have to wait for a while before I we get in, but once your in I usually have a great time. Usually though, if you *look like you belong there* and aren't move than 3 guys, the bouncers will say to you it'll be a few minutes or something..

Its about getting 'the unwanted' out... you gotta understand they wanna keep 'the ratio' good, and the 3am durnks out. They dont want guys going in there and grabbing asses all night.

They'll have these things going for you, listen you need tickets, did you drink tonight, its guest list only... it really is all bullshit, next time you go just tell the guy, listen I know there's no tickets, I didn't drink tonight and I drove from NYC to see Max Graham.

Did you get in at least, what did you do instead?, I suggest you write a letter to max graham (look for it at maxgraham.com he'll probably get back to you.. or post it on his message board).

We waited there till about 4 or 4:15 and then we left. We talked to the bouncer for a while but he was just being stupid. We had drank that nite, but only 3-4 drinks each and none of us were even buzzed let alone drunk. We ended up going back to our hotel and sleeping. We woke up at 8:30 and left by 10 to drive back. We had planned on staying at sona till 10 and then leaving straight from there.

Word of the wise.. when trying to enter Sona, try to make it there early, before 2 AM.

the only time i went to Sona was in last june for PvD and i had no problem for entering because I BOUGHT MY TICKET ONLINE and i went there at 11 PM ...

there is nothing you can do except wait.
you should have split up into pairs and gone in that way, and just met up inside. i have been there once with 3 guys and it took no more than 20 mins to get in. dont talk shit with the bouncers or anything or else they wont let you in.

and many times i been there the bouncer tells us about 'tickets'. that is all bullshit. you just gotta keep waiting after he tells you that, and they'll let you in soon enough...

sorry to hear about your bad experience. that sucks.

welcome to montreal......unfortunately, this club is worse than any after hours for trying to get in past 2:00 am

u need chicks....i walked into the line at 2:30 when there was about 50 guys standing around waiting......i was with 1 girl and 2 guys....we didnt even approach the line and the bouncer already opened the gate for us

however i did wait 45 minutes in the freezing cold to see tiesto in february...and guess what?? no girls!

There's never tickets at sona.. except on REALLY special occasions, ie. PvD or Oakenfold..

Bouncers through bullshit to get people out of the line, saying your not going to get in if you dont have an (imaginary) ticket (which could mean.. undressed women)

I was ther with Gaurave last saturday nite at Sona...let me tell you it was the worst experience i have ever had...The Sona bouncers are full of shit...Whats up with this selective crap....Half of the people they let in didnt even look like they knew anything about the music, while they let all the americans stand outside...We have tons of after hours places in NYC, and i know nothing like this would have ever happened. AT least if the bouncers are gonna come up with some bullshit excuse to not let us in, they should stick to it and tell everyone the same thing...damn assholes

My rule of thumb when i hit Sona is to get there around 12, you get in no problems. Then you find a seat to chill out with your friends waiting for your DJ and don't have to stress about whether you are getting in or not. The later it gets the more selective they get ..(those standards where stated by others in earlier posts and they are very true!)
