JULLLIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

LUV YA GIRL...BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Boomer187 on Feb-13-2004 12:01:

I have to admit, this was probably the worst "club" I have been to since moving to vegas.

EDM is not that big on the strip and I love how spundae is trying to get a gathering, so I didn't expect a packed venue. But these people....uh

and the sound system was definitely lacking something. It sounded like a few 10" speakers were being used. It just did not have that reverberated bass sound. I am no sound tech, so I am probably talking out of my ass.

I stayed there a whole 20 minutes and I hated myself after that....so I left. I really wanted to see nick warren but I just could not sit through the opener.....

I dunnno, I went in very positive, and my mood turned sour after hearing a few songs.

hopefully spundae will pick a new venue to try and get a following.

so sorry sexy persian....I couldn't stand it long enough to try to find ya there. I hope you had fun though.

thats too bad you couldnt sit through till nick warren because he rocked it .... he played very trancy prog...very 98 sasha style was nice ..... at the end he totally banged it out ... but i understand the show out what bad and its not spundaes faults because vegas is so shitty no support at all with the people who live here and the tourists its sucks ..someone like nick warren should had a better turn out but honest it was awsome when he got on so many people stayed till the end and he really banged it out

some tracks he played

Killahurtz - West on 27th (sleepfreaks mix)<< INSANE!!!!!!!
Rouzbeh Delavari - Soap (Ozgur Can mix)
those two guys - 33revolution (starkid & blake jerell remix)
U2 rmx that was killer
Luke Chable pres. Quest - The Shephard
Steve Porter - Vodka Cranberries
Gpal - Ophra (El Greco mix)
Pig & Dan track
New Way out west track that was killer

ah, I know how it is with the no support. I am glad they are trying to get something together, hopefully it will work one of these times.

Sounds like he spun some nice tunes .

Damn

I love Nick Warren.

He's playing in Houston tonight, pero no tengo dinero para entrarme.

That Spanish was probably wrong, but I'm trying to pick it up again.

a lot of people dont know but when people get food sickness like ecoli, somenella it takes about a good 12 hours after you ate the bad food to get sick ,a lot of people right away assume it was the last thing they ate but usually it isnt.... time they get sick go 12 hours back and see what they ate usually is what caused the food poisoning

Really? I dunno, it was weird... cuz he was feeling fine b4 we went to go eat. Then we went up to our room to go get ready for Spundae... and suddenly, he started to feel really horrible & sick!

Maybe it wasn't food poisening... maybe it was like one of those 24 hour flu's?

well I think it is all location. If you try to get a venue on the strip your target is basically tourist. They are not in it for the music at all, they won't return. They look for people and everything but the music.

I've been hanging out at some shows off the strip, granted they are small and free, but they are gathering more and more people. sucky part about that is that they hate trance, they are drawn to more house, breaks, DnB, and stuff like that. Which is cool by me, but I like to play trance.

if you wanna check out some shows, this sunday at Curve is vegas after 10's anniversary party. should be cool.

baby steps. I think we just need baby steps.

yup, u are totally right. 99.9 % of tourists have no idea what REAL music is.

i been here so long that it has nothing to do with tourists or locals majority of the people come from cali that visit vegas and many are well aware of the electronic scene.. The problem with local parties is that is so hard to get a good enough following because locals dont come out and support these smaller parties. It mainly has to do with the amount of venues and the people who run these parties..... the fact is every can casino has a club serverl of them , then you have promoters who run the booking and runing of the promotions for the party who have no sense of the music scene. Thats why you have numerous clubs playing crap. Back in 98 ,99 when the clubs were as numerous as now there were few clubs that really held the crowds well one of Club Utopia every weekend that place was packed and with Robert Olyseyck being the resient weekly and also balance promo dj you had some nice underground stuff. They also had monthly residents of Kimball Collins and Donald Glaude. The place would sttay open till 8 - 9 in the morning with people still in there. So it has nothing to do with locals or toursists because its all a mean your get same precentage of tourists enjoying electronic music as you have locals garenteed. Im not big for Trance anymore as i used to be back in the day ...Progressive is where im at in my time of life... well to be honest im trying to start a weekly night out on Saturday in talks with a nice location now ill let you guys know the details when everything is set in stone.

Saturdays would be a cool night to get something together.

One place i say take off is the Icehouse. The first friday they have 70's 80's funk....not exactly progressive, but tis place is packed now. back in oct it was $5 and never filled out completely...Now it is $10 and is packed by 10:30.

So I am wondering about the music taste of the people around here. I konw there are tons o locals going there, in fact I bet that 90% at least are locals. I ahve no idea what that has to do with anything....

but yeah saturdays would be sweet, are you gonna be the promoter or who is?

hahaha Ice House is the location we are looking at ...Peter Kovacs the manager of ice house comes to my bar all the time and we have discussed possible night at ice house but we havent sat down and talked about it yet clearly ..but saturdays it would most likely be if we did do anything
