This is a really nice venue, the dj booth is the nicest in this city. Not much point in posting this on TA IMO.

Just ask any of the people involved with this place what they think of trance

What a waste!

fridays is prog with some trance. kevin shu and nicky delgado play there.

jay tripwire and tyler stadius play there together as well, not trance, but definately the bes thing vancouver has and will see for a while.

Call it what you want, it isn't trance.

-nuff said

judging by the dj list and the audio loop playing on their site, this is DEFINITELY not a trance club. pity

looks like a really nice place, though, that's for sure. if i ever have 25 spare dollars lying around (i think that's their cover charge) I'll check it out.

This is a dope venue and awesome place to party, but yeah, they don't do trance =P

Gorgomish is a very nice club and has the nicest sound system out on the Westcoast in my opinion.

They might not play trance but when Tyler Johnson, Jay C, Nicky Delgado or Kevin Shiu grace the decks on a Friday night it is a great, great time in there with the sound of progressive house.

Worth the $20 price of admission.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Feb-17-2004 22:29:

if they start bringing in bignames for progressive (Sasha, Digweed, etc) then I would be delighted beyond measure

They are all great djs but not worth the admission charge IMO.

The venue itself is pretty much worth it though, blows anything else in Vancouver away as far as sound is concerned, and it goes until 8am so if you look at it that way it's really not that.

I have the permanent hookup there thanks to Porter, hehe.

Unlike Toronto and Montreal we don't have many options for legal afterhours to go to.

$20 isn't that bad of a price to pay for 7 hours of music.

I am sure you are right. Just personally I wouldn't pay that much.

According to the Gorgomish site, its open from 2-10am actually =P Which puts us just a couple hours behind Aria...

Define "hookup"

Posted by mikefasssy on Feb-18-2004 00:54:

checked out the site, its pretty dope, my only problem is that the pictures basically are useless. they are great artistic shots but don't relaly show anything inside the club at all, like, i have no idea what it looks like even though there are ~25 pictures, what I do know is that they are hot girls, and weird lights.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Feb-18-2004 01:43:

just out of curiosity...since they serve no alcohol, is there an age limit to get into this club? Also, I agree with you mikefasssy, the photos are shite. All the more reason to hit it up and see it for meself

Posted by Sean Walsh on Feb-18-2004 03:51:

It's a beautiful upscale room, really nice decor and a MINT soundsystem. The lights are pretty minimal, mainly just provided by the mirror ball and a few lights shining at it, but it does the trick. I believe it's still a 19+ venue despite not serving alcohol, but I could be wrong.

By hookup I mean that I can get in on guestlist if I call ahead w/o cover if I call ahead to the man in charge.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Feb-18-2004 04:22:

Cool...if you're right about the 19+ thing, I have to say that is fucking bullshit...there should be more options for the under-19 crowd than just raves...I remember being 18 and dying to get into clubs but couldn't cause I didn't have a fake...so I'm empathetic to the underage crowd

As for your hookup...lucky bastard.

Are you kidding me? No way in hell a place like that is going to let minors in.

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Feb-18-2004 05:22:

Why would that be, if they don't serve liquor? Sorry to be asking such dumb questions but please, enlighten me here.

Posted by Special_K on Feb-18-2004 05:28:

Well im just assuming that this place is trying to cater to the older crowds, like most afterhours.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Feb-18-2004 06:30:

For the same reason that the Afterhours in Montreal don't let minors in: no one wants to be partying with kids =P

Posted by jesten on Feb-18-2004 20:31:

You guys are right. Judging by who is running the night I would say the is no way minors are allowed in there.

Posted by malek on Feb-18-2004 21:17:

on a side note:

I don't think that Alain Vinet would like to see himself associated with Stereo...

they parted ways
