But if it is troo im pissed bc i booked a hotel room and now i cant get out of it...no cxl's allowed for labor day weekend at the ramada inn out in riverhead...and now im sure some friends wont want to go and i dont know what to do or how to afford the hotel!! Yea I seriously hope that they don't cancel it..this event was a step in the right direction for Trance and House music to make a move in the U.S. Lets hope that it still goes on....I hope that we can get refunds on the tix at least....oh well...fingers crossed!

Exclamation

Just got this from www.sfx.com

Creamfields

Due to poor projected attendance, the following event has been cancelled. Both Clear Channel and Cream are hugely disappointed that the event is not going to take place this year. We would like to apologize to anyone who has already bought tickets and to anyone who was planning to do so.

UGH!!!

Actually... it's not a right step... it's more like a corporation cashing in on the big electronica craze recently.
I mean... don't get me wrong... i would've LOVED to go... i had my tickets all ready, i had my back-pack all planned out...
but seriously... sfx is the company that promotes MADONNA concerts... don't get me wrong... it was a good thought... just a little misguided...

Smiley DJ ya

You bet your ass its misguided.. They better be making a mistake cuz sure hell we know las vegas got canceled so who knows they could've thought Ny was canceled. You just keep those tickets where they are. Start promoting creamfields so people will buy. Remember you can say that Area One is not even 1 percent par to creamfields plus its more expensive. Who would want to pay for 70-80 for area one for like 2-5 hours not even. While you can Enjoy a full 16 hour set with 4 tents and about 30+ djs on lineup for only 65 bucks and not to mention they have carnivals there too including 30,000 + PARTY PEOPLE!.. They are gonna add a lot more shit in that area for sure. If you don't believe me see what UK had to offer on Creamfields. So I say get your tickets your in for the ride. You will only experience this one chance for 2001. I've been waiting for a event like this for 2 years.. don't let this thing crumble like it was nothing. Its time to move to the DJ Era where that too is part of Music life in America. Quit listening to boy bands and screaming chicks. It's time to move your ass and get a groove on.

If it is truly cxl then obviously Cream was only interesting in capatilizing on an expanding need for good electronica in America. If they think that they had poor ticket sales this time..ha wait till they try and throw another event. People will remember how they cxl'ed it only 3 weeks prior to its scheduled date....which is after the fact that many people had made concrete plans. I went to the creamfields site and wrote them an email letting them know my disappointment in the news of the ny event being cxl. I also expressed my apprehension of buying tickets for a creamfields event in the future. As well as letting them know that if they are truly cxl'ing it over poor ticket sales that it just shows that they were out to make money and not really interested in what really matters. I suggest you do the same in a respectful manner. Write them an email saying how you feel. Things of that nature. At least they will get to see that people were really interested in this event.

Smiling Frog

oh and ps the creamfields site still has not updated to say that the NY event is cxl. either they are slow in updating it...which is poor on their parts or people have wrong information. I guess we'll see in a couple of days if they update it or not.

Hey twilochik good point about the money making issue...I couldn't agree more....I am going to the site to send an e-mail as well....

GRRRRRRRRRrrRRR

Smiley DJ =/

Well its actually mostly the djs that need the money. There are 30 + djs on the list and they have to pay off the stages, sounds, djs, damages, carnivals, all that so its really the reason why they are not coming. Poor Tickets sales also means not a lot of people are gonna be there= not really a creamfield event having 2,000 people and only listening to one area of the event. Unless... There is a conspiracy going on that they made money off of you guys and then just decided to cancel hrmm..

Oh fuck they finally updated the site arrr.. just a few mins ago

CREAMFIELDS USA UPDATE...

Creamfields Las Vegas

Cream sadly regrets to announce the cancellation of their Creamfields West Coast event.

Jim King of Cream states, 'Basically, the land that we had been told was available for us to use in Las Vegas turned out to be unavailable.

It has been very frustrating and we are bitterly disappointed. We had put all our concentration on an alternative site in Los Angeles, but due to time restrictions, we were unable to guarantee that the move from Las Vegas to LA would guarantee that the Creamfields event would be truly unique.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to any people who have already made plans for Las Vegas on September 29th.'

Creamfields New York

Cream and Clear Channel also regret to announce the cancellation of Creamfields NY scheduled for September 1st at Riverhead, Long Island, NY. The show was cancelled on the advice of Clear Channel, who felt that the ticket sales so far were lower than expected.

Months of preperation had gone into the US debut of the highly successful, award-winning UK dance festival.

A Cream spokesperson today stated; "Both Cream and Clear Channel are hugely disappointed that the event is not going to take place this year. All the artists and DJs involved were looking forward to participating in such a significant event for dance and electronic music. We would like to apologize to anyone who has already purchased tickets and to anybody who was planning on doing so. "

Ticket refunds are available at point of purchase.
