Download my latest set - The newest in uplifting (repost)

for some reason my past thread was deleted for reasons unknown, so Im reposting it

for this set I decided to spin a melodic/uplifting rather than progressive like my 01-11-04 set. this one is banging... high energy, higher tempo than my other mixes, pretty solid mixing however I like the mixing in my last set more

I've come the conclusion that progressive is easier/funner to mix than uplifting, but thats just me.

anyway, without further ado, here she is

Jordan A - Live @ Home (02-15-04)

CUEFILE FOR BURNING
http://users4.ev1.net/~juanitadamic...an-02-15-04.cue
For those that dont know, the cue file is used for burning so that it breaks the set up into the different tracks it consists of. If you burn the set using the cue file, the set will be broken up seamlessly, for easy searching. Aswell, if you have a text-supporting CD player, the track names will be listed when you're listening. To burn using the cue, download the cue to the same folder as the Mp3. Go to www.goldenhawk.com and download CDRwin. Open the cue (or cuesheet) in CDRWIN and burn.

unknown reasons??

Maybe because its illegal to download mp3s and its even 'more illegal' to use them in a mix..

I dont mind downloading mp3s for private use but when "Djs" dont buy vinyls anymore and are using illegal mp3s instead of legal cds or records then theres really no suprise when the big trance labels close their doors..

Yet you still act like its the most normal thing in the world..

Posted by DeleriuM2K on Feb-19-2004 16:16:

I buy a hell of a lot of vinyl
I spend a huge part of the small money I make on supporting the industry so dont give me that bs, its completely unfair

any track I like that I have on Mp3 I buy when I its released

Not to jump on the bashing bandwagon, but I'm just wondering why you don't play all the vinyl you have then?

I don't understand why people feel the need to only play the latest and greatest. You're only posting on an Amateur Forum, there's no reason to "wow" people with all of the upfront tunes.

Wait till those tunes are out on vinyl, then spin them in your set. Then you won't get any shit from the anti-mp3 people.

Try telling that to a promoter when you are trying to get your first gig DeleriuM2K mixes are a reason to check this forum out, how is downloading an mp3 of his mix any different to going on the hub and downloading the same tracks on a DJ set to listen too ? It's not like he is profiting from you downloading his sets (is he ?!?). If this guy is using mp3 + CD + vinyl (are you - I'm not sure ?) then he is waaaaaaaaaay ahead of the game for an amateur dj and could well have a career ahead of him. Howabout giving new talent some support or does everyone want to watch Armin et all dj'ing from wheelchairs in 2060 ?!?

Last I checked, the regulars checking this forum aren't promoters. Do you really think a promoter cares if it's all upfront tunes if the mix is shit? And would you be dumb enough to give a promoter a demo with mp3 rips? I highly doubt it.

I just don't see the point in playing mp3's when there are soooo many good vinyls out. It just seems like everyone trys to play the newest stuff so they stand out. Make your mixes stand out by technical ability and flow rather than the newest tunes. That's all I'm trying to say.

The majority of the mixes that I enjoy from the forum are ones with somewhat older tunes mixed with new ones that have a wonderful flow together. It's harder to establish that sort of set structure when you're just linking new tune after new tune.

I'm not saying this just due to Delerium2k, I've seen a lot of people doing it recently. My opinion, that's all.

Ok Im sorry then ...

this mix is in my car CD player right now. i love it.

just out of curiosity, what is your "official" DJ name?

do you go by DeleriuM2K, Jordan, DJ Jordan, DJ Delerium, or what?

goatboy - thank you for the support

gothenge - I dont really have an 'official' dj name since Im not a professional DJ. But I've thought about what would be a good name for me if I ever did get employment as a DJ

definitely not Delerium since that is the name of a group
and I think the whole DJso-and-so thing is played out, kinda cheesy to have 'DJ' in front of your name these days

probably Jordan A, or maybe Jordan Ash
how do those sound? :P

Hey, that's a cool comment, sorry if I went off on one but I just think we should all encourage new talent ya know ??? Does this set contain MP3 rips tho ? That's what I was asking, I haven't DL'd it as my connection is shit at the mo.

D2K, no problem, I spin myself and I think your sets are kewl. When I have the capability I will upload some myself ... all vinyl tho

Posted by pho mo on Mar-13-2004 08:31:

I realise it has been a while since you posted this.

But I thought I should let you know, pretty much every day I listen to this mix, it gets me through work, its always on my mp3 player and when I roll a phat spliff late at night this is the mix i go for!

Introspection
Alba
Starbust
Broken Pieces
Skyab
Escape

Dude! it doesn't get much better than that, and the sound quality + mixing is perfect.

Thanks heaps!!! and let me know when you decide to do your next mix of recent trance!

Posted by Clyde77 on Mar-14-2004 13:02:

sorry to ask but which are those u own on vinyl ..

btw thanks for taking time posting your mix and etc... i listened to your set there are times u kill the outgoing track too early and sometimes you mix the incoming track too early. not going with the 16 or 32 mark. but beatmatching is tight.. keep working and some of your sets i like :P. how long have u been mixing?
