Hi,

Stupid question maybe... I have lot's of live sets and full cd rips but just d/l Battle Of The DJ's PUSH vs AIRWAVE. It was ripped in .WMA format (stupid! ) and does anyone know how to burn this one? or better, can I convert it to mp3?

There are twos ways (to my knowledge, im not saying they the best ways!) of doing this and both need cool edit 2000/pro (which i can sort out if u havent got it).

You can either open it with cool edit (i think it opens .wma's) and save it as an mp3, or you can set it up to record it (probably quickest...) just get it plaing and press record on cool edit, if it doesnt record, check ur comps record levels.

Actually winamp has the ability to convert mp3s to wav files. Simply press ctrl+p in winamp, under the Plug-ins select output. By default it should be something like Nullsoft waveout, change it to Nullsoft Disk Writer. Now when you play an mp3 in winamp it will spit out a wave file instead of sound. I suppose this should also work for wma files but i've never tested it out myself.

well there u go, learn something new every day! Wizzie wants wma-mp3 though, and cooledit would prob be a quicker way to do it coz winamp would only do wma-wav(?) and then he'd have to spend donkeys years encoding it

Both suggestions work... Winamp converts to .wav and that's OK to burn a cd. But Cooledit converts to mp3 as well, I didn't think about the convert options of Cooledit (hehe).

Okay, just in case the problem ever happens again, thers a fairly popular program called musicmatch, it converts mp3->wav, wav->Mp3, wmp->mp3, wmp->wav, wav-wmp, mp3-wmp. Its a great program, you can also use it as music burning software + its free and you can also rip your favorite cd's with it into mp3 format!

Also nero converts them as well, and a program called tunespark, but i will try winamp, the ones i use are a little slow

fuck this...I still have trouble encoding wma to mp3 i am sitting here and getting more pissed off at myself for just not being able to firgure it out...and btw Cool Edit 2000 only encodes 50 seconds and no more..fuck..
