Evanescence - My Immortal (Michael Feihstel Above Remix) (Final)

This one is for everyone who is tired of waiting for the finished version. I know it kept me long...sorry.
Well, i replaced the lead synth by an overdriven guitar, extended the vocals by some short filtered vocal loops, added some new layers, reworked the effects on the vocals and hope you're satisfied with it now. Let me know!

hmmm, I think I liked the last version better. The echo-ing vocal loops is a little odd. I like the idea of maybe using an echo at the end of each line with the last word a few times. The end of your lines sound good...but like when it loops an entire line it just sounds confusing and not very pleasing. If that makes any sense....

The synth seems not to flow very well sounds like there is a little bubbly sound when it reloops. I don't think I remember your other mix having that sound.

I'll have to go back and listen to the other one now to make sure (:

Like the echo-ing at the 6:20ish mark sounds pretty good. But when it gets to 6:45ish - 7:00 it seems to echo too much it gets confusing . and it seems to make the synth in the background warrble , bubble-y sound more noticeable. (if warrble is even a word!!) lol.

Not bad though, I think it can be improved though and be really good.

*edit-- wait maybe you didn't have another remix of it... i could be thinking of someone elses (: sorry I'm tired been studying too much lately!*

Apparently my computer just hates your remixes, because it will never let me download the tracks you post. Which sucks because I love your remixes. Can you think of any reason why it wouldn't be working on my relatively new dell laptop?

About the delay on the vocals: I like it, the delay makes it sound more complex and i think it's nice to have to her words repeated with a pan effect (and this effect has a mix of 18% so i don't think there's too much delay). I tried without delay...but i didn't like it.Maybe a question of taste.
I just wanted to have the vocals a little bit more in the background.

YOu hear a bubble effect? Sorry, but i really don't hear one...
There is a little filter effect on the synth...

Well, i don't know...Please download with Right-Click and "save target as...". If it doesn't work with this i have no clue. Sorry....Maybe you can get it with DC!?

As you know I totally loved Numb, I still listen to it once in a while just cause I like it that much !

Again, I really like this one, as a pianist I always dislike the sound of the synth pianos, but you did a nice job, is it a sample of the actual song or something ? Piano sounds nice ! I like her voice so much, at the start I was kinda 'wtf overload of echoes' but as I kept listening it grew on me The part after 5:35 is my favourite at the moment. As you bring in the overdrive guitar, that's also pretty cool

Again nice job man, looking forward to your next remix !

PS : Is it ok if I burn this to a CD and spin it when I have to do some loungy set ? It would be kinda cool I think

ahhh ok yea thats how i initially did mine... but wasnt a fan of the piano on the original just being "stuck in there".

plus the song wasnt recorded to a click track, so the tempo is alll over the place

Since there is no acapella i had to use the radio edit which already contains a piano (which you may know). Therefor there was no need to create one...so yes, they are sampled.

Nice to see that you like the delay...almost thought my taste is strange

its really good...but there is too much delay on the vocal, it gets confusing, and too messy...

BADASS REMIX!!

I am rockin to this track nonstop. The delay and the echo are a bit awkward AT FIRST if you are expecting to hear a normal vocal track. But the truth is, the delay and echo give the track a special touch, rather than just adding an electronica beat to "My Immortal." It gives it some character. The beat is infectious.

Michi I love how you added that extra instrumental part at the end without vocals where you add in another sound. Awesome awesome job bro. I love this!!!

i have to agree with the others, the delaying can be annyoing but, after a few listens, i kinda like it, gives it a "holden & thompson - nothing (93 returning mix)"-type of feel, i know now nothing bout production, but i fucking love the music, very crisp & deep.

I love it. It's beautiful. The echo is georgeous. IMO it gives her voice more feeling since you can't concentrate so much on the the words as the feeling and beauty of her voice. Amazing remix from you. I know I can expect banging tracks whenever you post something.

I like this. Great work once again. Montana is right, it reminded me of Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning mix)too. So your efforts are not going unnoticed! You did a great job implemnting similar kinds of characteristics on the vocals. In this way I did like the delay on the vocals. In this remix of yours its not really the vocals that play a part, its the melody of the vocals itself! (IMO ) I liked this very much. My roomates here liked it too. They asked what song it was when I was listening.
As for quality of production - excellent.
Keep it up and good luck in the future.
