The Romans built roads across modern-day Turkey with much of the same materials available in Iran. But even 2000 years ago, they gave up on mud, and developed the first concrete. I guess that knowledge hasn't filtered its way down yet.

G-d lol.. The persian empire was one of the greatest empires on earth, but i wouldn't call them one of the first civilisations...
