installation gone wrong

i was installing a program (remotelyanywhere) and it quit in the middle of the process with a "fatal error"

so now if i try to install it again, it does the same thing and there's no way to uninstall it, the button is grayed out in the add/remove programs panel.

is there anything i can do besides manually searching through the registry and trying to delete any records of it?

If you're running XP do a system restore to they day before then try installing again.

lol, who uses system restore? It takes around 800Mb, and some processor time. Just reinstall, and keep backups of EVERYTHING!

Hah!.. 800mb? try more like 10% of your diskspace (IIRC ondefault). It's a good idea to limit it to about a gig and leave it on though, saves you a lot of time.

You can try nuking the files from Program Files directory. If that doesn't work, you can also try running a reg sweeper. That's why when I build my system, I create a ghost image of the "clean" build - this way I don't have to mess around with hours of re-installs. Once done, takes about 15 minutes to bring the sytsem up to pristine condition.

Best of luck with it. BTW, Remotely anywhere is a sweet proggie, since our work is blocking sitest like e-bay - that's the only way I can get to my shit.

Later.

Heh, my system restore somehow turned itself on once, and I didn't notice until it was taking up 15 gigs.
