Dunno I need help downloading files...PLEASE!

ok guys, here is the problem

How can I download more than 2 files from the same webstie??
I tried many different web sites, but for some reason my PC would not start downloading a third file from the same web site if there are two downloads already running from the same website...

Is there something in the settings I could change???

I hope you guys understand what i am trying to say

HELPPPPPP!

Actually no. There is a registry tweak to allow you to make more than 2 connections to the server. On XP it's:

quote:

Windows will limit connections to a single HTTP 1.0 server to four simultaneous connections. Connections to a single HTTP 1.1 server will be limited to two simultaneous connections. The HTTP 1.1 specification (RFC2068) mandates the two connection limit while the four connection limit for HTTP 1.0 is a self-imposed restriction which coincides with the standard used by a number of popular Web browsers.
Open your registry and find the key below.

Create two new values, or modify the existing values, called 'MaxConnectionsPerServer' and 'MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server'. Change the values to equal the number of simultaneous requests allowed to a single HTTP server, the default values are 2 and 4 respectively.

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Note: By changing these settings you are causing Windows to break the HTTP protocol specification for any Internet applications running on your machine.

Note: This affects all Windows Internet applications that use the standard API, including Internet Explorer.

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Internet Settings]
Value Name: MaxConnectionsPerServer, MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: Number of Simultaneous Connections

2 downloads at a time is because of internet explorer. It happens to me too. I use a download accelerator program, so i dont have that problem.

If you download Netscape, another browser, then it will allow you to download more than 2 files at a time.

May be theres a reason they implemented 2 downloads at a time

http://www.speedbit.com/help/Default.asp?V=7.0.1.3

you can download the demo too

It has some spyware in there, there are probably better download accelerators out there like Getright or others, just search around at http://www.tucows.com under their software section
