Above and Beyond - No One on Earth

I know there's a thread about the G&D remix of the song, but I was wondering who got the chance to listen to the original version of the song. How does the original compare to the G&D remix?

For me, I'd prefer the original version. Other than the fact that it's more "trancey", I like the use of the piano in the song. The chords in the original give the song a more "mellowed out" feeling, as opposed to the "dark and gloomy" sounds of the Gabriel & Dresden Remix. I still think the lyrics are horrible, but the placement of phrases in the Original is just a little better.

Thoughts?

So? I don't see people flaming on the "Radiohead - Street Spirit (Tiesto Remix)" topics.

Besides, I heard it on their MoS set. There should be a rip floating about by now.

It's ok, but Satellite is a hell of a lot better.

Heard only Gabriel & Dresden mix on Transphere... vocals are soooo sweeeet!!

Original Mix is much better than G&B Remix. Melody and vocals are great but i miss that flowing bassline which was in Far from in love. But definetely a hot tune.

definately prefer original, much more emotion in it. g&d mix isnt very good imo.

Wait till you hear their big room remix style (i dont know the official name of it yet) but i heard this in a sample and it blew me away!

Posted by sigmanova on Jun-04-2004 06:37:

original over the g&d remix anytime...the original is simply more uplifting and passionate to the ear, while the g&d remix has its own thing going on...not that i am bashing on g&d...but i was disappointed their remix of No One On Earth was not as great as their earlier remixes...

the lyrics (and I repeat, the *lyrics*) are just ummm blahhhh. They're average and just boring-leading-to-nowhere, I mean ... how many times have you heard the phrase "you've came to save me" on trance songs, blahhh, gets me quite mad in some sense, cause the vocals (now i'm really talking about the vocals) sound quite beautiful.

Anyway, I haven't really heard the original enough times to make an absolute rule out, but the G&D remix is my favourite so far.

Well I like the G&D mix ... really nice build and tripped out synths, good work from the boys I reckon. Haven't heard the original but am intrigued now after thew descriptions here

definetly the original all the way..

its a little slower for the Above & Beyond name but it is still quality

it's the other way around for me. the original is way too fluffy for my taste.. and the vocals fit the G&D mix much better i think, they sound a bit too happy in the original.

G&D final remix is different from the one they used to play early,,, that one was SO MUCH better!

ummm, I just heard this "final version" and you're right ... ughh, wth have they done? Quite reminds of the case with PvD and Nothing but you. They added this extra percussion sound in the background that sounds quite odd.... $LK!"#L$K!"# .... ack, I gonna make a reconstruction to fix all this as soon as I get the promo

True !

Orignal Mix remind me Farm For The Love.

G&D - 11/10
