Help! Dash removal on a 2000 Honda Civic.

Ok guys, here's the situation. This girl in my class, read as this FINE girl in my class has a spider on her instrument cluster. It's so funny, it's just sitting there under her temp gauge, yes it's alive.

So, in order to get somewhere with her I want to take it out.
Does anybody know how to remove the plexiglass over the gauges? I looked tonight, and theres 2 screws on the top part, in front of the plexiglass. Do I just remove those 2 screws, tilt the wheel down and pull it out?
She has a 2000 Honda Civic.

lol.....that's pretty funny....

I really don't know cuz i don't own a civic.... but i think it might be too complicated... just let the spider find it's way out..
If it was able to come in, it should be able to get out..

Push the car down a cliff into an ocean and the spider is sure to find its' way out.

I'm not sure how the new Honda's are but it I've taken my dash apart on my 1990 Acura Integra to install a new benzel. It was quite an involved project. There were like 11 screws I had to unscrew and I had to remove all of the instrument controls.

Here are images to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about :



That entire panel all the way over to passenger side is all one piece.

Thanks, I wanted to accent the interior with brushed aluminum because the all black interior wasn't working for me. I wish I could install a newer Acura steering wheel that has silver accents too, but I can't because I don't have an airbag.

Yeah, I've been dumping cash into performance rather than audio. I'm a big audiophile too, but the performance modding is damn addictive and expensive as well.

I'm going to start working on the audio soon though, probably once I have my full 2.25" exhaust system. I just need the header and cat now.

On her car (I don't know if I'm using the right terms)there is a black "frame" in front of the plexiglass, which is in front of the gauges. When you look on the top part of that frame area, there are 2 screws. I'm thinking if I remove those screws, then I can have access to the plexiglass cover?

If you look closely on my first pic I posted you'll see that I have the about the same thing you're talking about. It appears that you just remove those screws and you're in, I thought the same when I ordered the benzel. Only once I started the project did I realize that was not the case and it was more complex than I had originally thought.

Try a Honda forum, there's a few good ones around that should be able to help you right away. I don't know a whole lot about all the Honda's yet because I just got my car not even a year ago...but I know quite abit about my car.

I just noticed the screws, that's what hers is like. I thought I could unscrew them, pull out the bezel, then have access to the plexiglass. Do you know of any good honda forums?
