Formula 1: who will be this years champion?

the 2004 season is approaching.. (will start an official thread next week)

who do you guys reckon will be crowned champion this year?

my bet is on Ralf.

Ferrari will be the team to beat again i think, but i have a feeling Ralf will have his best year ever..
Montoya is good but a bit too inconsistent
and McLaren have been lacking some pace in testing, plus they've had a lot of technical issues..

I have a feeling that Montoya will be lethal this season. He's not as reckless as he used to be

Posted by ryo on Feb-25-2004 21:57:

Montoya for me too, or Schumacher again. Not that I care anymore, I just hope it won't be a boring season with overtaking only during pitstops.

Go Montoya

Schumi hands down. Shell isn't even the main sponsor but 100% of their money goes just for his salary. There is a reason he is the highest paid pro athelete in the world, he dominates F1 like nobody does anyother sport. Look for Toyota to make a big effort this year they have been spending upwards of 600 million a year.

since I hate Schumi, and I LIKE Montoya.
Go MONTOYA

Posted by Kongo_kim on Feb-28-2004 11:54:

I hope schumi but think kimi

Posted by gdj^ on Feb-28-2004 16:36:

Thumbs down

Why Schumi? Why is it always have to be the same one of every year?
I hope Montoya wins, Schumi has won too many times , thats its gettin pointless to watch F1

Posted by jp on Feb-28-2004 18:08:

Shumi is still the guy to beat

Montoya will come close

Posted by mute79 on Mar-01-2004 20:44:

I voted for Villeneuve

seriously though, this F1 season is gonna be so boring, it'll be same thing all over again, Ferrari vs. Williams, and it won't be nearly as entertaining since JV left BAR, at least last year you could bet on how long he would last before his engine blew up...

*sigh*

Posted by zarathustra on Mar-01-2004 22:46:

Montoya or Raikkonnen. ANYONE BUT SCHUEY!!!

Posted by UnBracKo on Mar-02-2004 19:43:

Michael Schumacher
See the progression of Alonso, in a few years he will be the next F1 star.

Heh, It could force a nascar'ish rule on them and run restrictor plates, which would suck. As far as I'm concerned let them run balls the wall and if one team/driver is good enough to dominate so be it. I'd rather see Ferrari run away with it everywhere then to start making restrictions to make it more fair to the other compeitiors.

Rubens is a great driver he's improving for sure and he is driving the same car as shumi, if shumi let's him go for it and his team has his backing he'll do quite well

Posted by TheVrk on Mar-08-2004 01:45:

i'll take the easy way out
and stick with the money man, michael schumacher

Posted by MrSquirrel on Mar-08-2004 02:03:

Schumacher all the way.
