stories of weird stuff and funny events that people do during Passion of Christ movie

ok i don't know if you guys have seen it yet. if you haven't then skip school or work and go get your asses in the theatres.

anyways when i went, about half of the people in the theatre was already sobbing after the movie. during the movie there was an idiot that went between the isles and sat in a lotus position and prayed.
also there were moans and groans whenever the violent happened. weird stuff movies can do to people

my bro that went also in another time said there was a spanish woman that put her hand on his shoulders and prayed.

embarassing to think about yes, but do i blame them for that impact..............no really

my friend which i don't beleive him said that there was a guy that actually cut his wrist and tried to commit suicide during the movie.

fuckkked up shit during the jesus blockbuster hit

americans really get involved when going to the theatre i'm told, is it true that you applaud the screen at the end of most movies?

No,

but I was at a theater in inner city detroit and you could bring 40oz of beer in there (not common in the us), and evreyone was so freakin loud, crackin jokes.

it was fun....but I doubt they will show passion.

I haven't seen that much applause during my movie experiences. Yes, Lord of the Rings was one that got applause, and i vaugley remember House on Haunted Hill got tons of applause at the end.
During the movie Titanic, people cheered when Rose spit in the face of her would-be husband

My experiences in the USA theatres are normal and boring..

In puerto rico...people crack jokes, and applaud all the damn time.
In the 2nd pre-blah of star wars....when Yoda finally shows he's got the powa and pulls out his lightsaber, and starts jumping around like mad crazy......the whole theatre went into a screaming uproar....ive never heard or seen anything like that in my life.

I remember when Saving Private Ryan came out.

I was in the movie theater with my friend. Good movie. At the end when they are showing all the soldiers that died in the wars names or something like that, I was like 'Ok movies over' I get up with my friend and mind you this place was filled to the brim with WW2 vets. So I stand up and the dude right behind me is like "Sit down" and just gave us this look. No one else seemed to have gotten up either, I thought i twas weird.

people need a fucking wake-up call... REALITY IS OUT THERE, HUMANS

Posted by Dj Dovla on Feb-27-2004 01:26:

cheering and applauding is fine ... people go to see movies to escape their reality and shit they have to deal with at home and at work , so for the 2 - 3 hours they are in the theatre , they forget their troubles and imagine themselves doing something they can never do in real life ... nothing wrong with that .

I'd probably want to flip out and be like "what the fuck bitch, get off of me!" Seriously though, if people are going to pray in a movie theater for whatever reason, thats ok but be silent about it and not bother others.

Only if it's a really good movie (like LOTR). As for getting involved with something, it's usually religion. Look at that thing we had last year about the Ten Commandments being removed from that Alabama courthouse.

word! i've always thought moviegoers in the US are pretty uptight, but that's because i come from PR where people think that going to the movies is like going to the circus.

i remember during LOTR3 everyone kept screaming gay epithets during every scene between Frodo and Sam. then a bunch of high school kids started taking pictures with flash at the audience wtf. they were running around the cinema, and he cops had to come in and kick them out after two hours of fucking around. i didn't mind because i don't take those movies too seriously, and it made the whole experience more fun.

Amen!

lol I'm gonna sound like a social hermit, but I hate going to movie theaters just because of the people ( also the risk that the film roll might be f****d up and stuff like that ). All these jerks talking during the movie etc. I've already told people to shut up during screenings.

One thing I remember that was "funny" was during titanic the place was packed so loud during the whole movie ( some kids were smoking and drinking in some areas ) and this scene where someone falls off the ship and unto the hugeeeeeee propeller just about everyone started to laugh! What a bunch of sadistic bastards

Technically you arent supposed to bring beer to the theater, but you can pretty much anywhere if you have a big enough purse...

Posted by MisterOpus1 on Feb-27-2004 16:20:

You think this movie will instill passion, just wait for the Star Wars Ep.III to come out, man! I'll be cheerin' and sobbin' my head off.....
