Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder

pwnage.

megalomaniac has an infectious hook...

Posted by tranceDJ on Feb-27-2004 03:15:

I like this cd too all though it has a heavier edge to it than the previous 2 incubus cds which I liked cuz they were more of a chilled out kind of rock.

Posted by SuperFarStucker on Feb-27-2004 03:21:

At least it isn't "our drummer needs to grow another arm" heavy. :P

I agree. Still gotta love it. Album flows quite nicely too. First time through I was like, woah, done already.. 60 minutes later

Posted by The_One on Feb-27-2004 04:33:

Well A Crow left of the Murder is a hell of a lot better than Morning View which was by far the WORST Incubus album ever.

pfff

KMFDM's Megalomaniac is much better

Posted by fitom tiel on Feb-27-2004 05:30:

im obsessed with this.
sounds a lot more experimental than the previous two and a lot more mature than the previous four,
and i like it that way.

fave track right now is 'beware! criminal'

Posted by SuperFarStucker on Feb-28-2004 21:13:

I too have become obsessed with this album. Track 6 owns me (Sick, Sad Little World).

quote:
No, You're not the first to fall apart
But always the first one to complain
You better get careful or you'll compromise everything You are

This world is a drought when out of love
Please come back to us
For all of the above
I'm making a choice to be out of touch
Leave me be he said

Leave me here in my stark raving sick sad little world

I've never had unpaid confidantes
It's more than I would care to explain
But I have an open door policy when it comes to blame

The world is a joke when out of love
Please come back to us
For all of the above
I'm making a choice to be out of touch
Leave me be he said

Leave me here in my stark raving sick sad little world

Megalomaniac is one good song

Posted by MindShifter on Feb-28-2004 22:21:

This album is fuckin great!!!! Sick Sad Little World is my fav track as well (Hence the custom status). Beware! Criminal is excellent as well. I think Southern Girl and Zee Deevel are the only tracks that I'm not too thrilled with. They had a broadcast a live show online thursday that was unbelievable!!!

The Set List was this
Megalomaniac
A Crow Left of the Murder
Warning
Idiot Box
Just a Phase
Agorophobia
Priceless
Pantomime (Song that was originally 22 minutes long, but was cut from the album, that has become sort of a fan obsession)
Here in My Room
Pistola
Vitamin
Clean
Talk Shows on Mute
Sick Sad Little World

It was sooooo fuckin good I can't begin to describe it. All I can say is that I can't wait for July to catch em @ Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado

where was this?

Posted by rainbow_marble on Feb-29-2004 06:37:

sorry guys but i think new incubus is trash.. if its rock i want it to be fast and hard. Incubus had the right idea with their first album, and progressively they have gotten worse.

Posted by Mebot on Feb-29-2004 08:50:

did anyone see the video for an incubus song?

i didnt see it but my roomate did. On MTV or MTV2 he said that it was quite contraversial.. it depicted scenes of Adolf Hitler and George Bush and stuff like that..

I dont know what the premise of the video was.. but has anyone else seen it or know what i'm talking about?

It was in California, it was great. I've got the mp3's of it (broken up by song) and the vid. Think I'll watch it now.

Planning on buying this album but really want to know if it's worth the price (i could download it on mp3 but some people think it's a sin). When i heard Morning View i was pretty dissapointed...

It's definately worth it! It's different than Morning View. The great thing about Incubus is that all of their albums sound different, they aren't cookie cutter. . . .

hook me up

Morning View was about 1000000000000000 times better. And those who said this one is harder?!?!?!? I wish you were here, Nice to know you, Blood on the Ground, Are you In, they are all rocking songs. Not to mention Pardon Me etc. Megalomaniac is one of the only "really" rocking songs on this cd. Given I love this cd, it is just a bit slower and a little bit more techy. It will never touch Morning View though.

I think on A Crow Left of the Murder, you really need to listen to it 2 or 3 times to really apreciate it. The first time I heard it I was disappointed, but as I progressivly listened to it, it started to grow on me.

Overall a good cd.

Posted by MindShifter on Mar-03-2004 20:36:

Are you In? is a rockin song?!?!?

Its good, but it doesnt' really meet the requirements of a 'rockin' song, especially when you put it in the context w/ the others you listed. Dont' get me wrong, I like morning view, but it is easily their most disappointing album IMO. I think that priceless is harder than say megalomaniac, its all about jose baby!
