i know is suposed to be a CHILL out forum..but who carez

Posted by Abbas on Aug-10-2001 18:56:

Hey man, you read my mind, for a while I wanted to post something like this but I didn't wanna start something that was unwelcome....

I'm Palestinian, and my view on this, is that the world is full of crap.....comeon, the whole world talks, and Bush comes out with his Mitchell crap Report and tells people who have been fighting for decades to listen to what I have to say....good luck is what I have to say to him!!!

I personally think not one side can be blamed, I have family in the West Bank, I went to Palestine once when I was like 1, I only hear stories what its like.....anyways, I believe the generation of leaders we have now will accomplish nothing, I believe the UN propasoal for security should have been implemented........although I think the UN can't do much, but atleast somebody would be taking notice and trying to control the situation somewhat....

Sharon, no offence to anybody is a cold blooded killer (i dont wanna start a fight, but just observe what he's been doing).....Arafat is an idiot, and hope he dies soon....the US has stuck its nose in this and believe they can do something.....Isreal and US politics I won't even get into right now....

Lastly, shame on the Arab world, all they do is watch, look at how much money these leaders have, like in Saudi Arabia building sky scrapers, if anyone has encountered leaders and people from the Gulf (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc.....) these people have enough money to buy anything....yet they stand there doing nothing, why?! my guess is the US!!!...

anyways, I think i have babbled enough

That stuff is really complicated. It seams to go on forever.

Hi Abbas
Cool to have a Palestinian here on the broad, didnt think there would be one here..nice
as for me im israeli but my fmaily left like 10 years ago..but i got all my relatives there and im visiting a lot so im up to date
anyway that bombing yesterday made me go nuts..i mean..my cousines cry on the phone how they are afaraid to enter the mall in order to buy shoes..or how ppl wouldnt go to clubs..one of my relative slost his job in a hotel in jerusalem due to the no more existing tourism

personally i dont like the US interventions either..i thought that Clinton just wanted to get into history books as the man who made the mid-east peae..he might have pushed both sides too much..so it exploded.

anyway..id actually agree with Baraks camp david offert..but about jerusalem..i wouldnt seperate it..cause im not so sure if the arabs are already accepting the jewish connection to their holy sites their. they are always denying israels right to EXIST so why give em the holies place on earth?

Posted by trancaholic on Aug-10-2001 19:32:

Where I live the media is anti-Israel for the time being, because of the announcement of the new ambassador here, Carmen Gillon, who, considering his pro-torture beliefs, they feel is a provocation to Denmark. However, I also read a lot of international news, including Time and Newsweek which are mainly pro-Israel so I don't think my opinions on this is biased:

I think that Sharon is destroying the peace-process, which would have been a peace-agreement had it not been for the stuborn old fool Arafat. Currently I think that fundamentalists (the worst kind of people no matter what they are advocating) on both sides are bringing up the body count and nothing else.
It's a damn shame that a lot of innocent people have to die because of some old buildings, and it will probably continue happening until Arafat has stepped down/died and the left-wing will win the Knesset. As for Bush: The more he shuts the **** up - the better.

But I am well aware that these opinions are based on the facts given by the press, and they would probably be different if I had access to all the information I would like.

there's too much fighting going on in the world..
this brings a quote to mind..
quote:

"When we look at modern man, we see that modern man suffers from a kind of poverty of the spirit, which stands in glaring contrast to his scientific and technological abundance. We've learned to fly the air like birds, we've learned to swim the seas like fish, but we havn't learned to walk the Earth as brothers and sisters."

Thumbs down

I hate conflict. This problem goes back many many years. It's sad that ppl cannot put aside differences and come to a consensus on peace. Personally, i just think people will just keep killing each other until there is no one left.

Posted by Izzy on Aug-11-2001 02:14:

Truly the only thing that pisses me off when i see all of this is the fact that the problems arent being done through politics and negotations but rather through violence... that wont help in any way.

i appluaded clinton for allowing discussions to go through a diplomatic and honorable manner. the shit started when it spilled onto the streets and out of the politicians hands... this i blame on the frustration of the palestinian people. it is alright to be frustrated but to let that build into violence is uncalled for.
the great YODA once said "fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering". its kinda the same thing. now with organizations such as hamas and islamic jihad so powerful it is impossible to have direct talks, those two groups have only one thing on their mind, the destruction of isreal and its jewish people, that is a fact... how do you deal with that? i dont get it either, its in the best interest of the whole mid-east for there to be peace - it'll lead to an economic boom among other benfits. why do some islamic nations (iran, syria, iraq) hate the jewsih people? what's wrong with love?

sorry for coming out like that so let leave on a happy note, check out this funny page:

this thread will soon be closed...heheh...yeah, but the conflict sucks..i can't say anything more, because i don't live in the region and am not of either ethnicity...i wish they could sumhow reach a peace settlement that would last..

peace

Posted by Eugene on Aug-11-2001 03:13:

There has been bloodshed on both sides, yes, that is true, BUT... when in such a conflict someone masterminds the murder of 20 young girls and boys at a discotheque... that is PURE EVIL. And we know who masterminded that murder. NOTHING can be more heinous than this crime. Nothing.

Posted by Some One on Aug-11-2001 05:07:

Just to clarify to people that dont know, The "peace process" was going on about 5 or so years already, if not more. The whole idea of this "peace process" is for the arabs to get more and MORE land from israel, as any if you can see has almost nothing left. Now The good thing about Sharone is that he can atleast retaliate after an attack, he is a strong leader, on the other hand, Ehud Barak was not strong, I once overheard a bunch of old people say that Arabs squeezed Barak like a lemon, they would sqeeze, and he would give in.

Anyways this whole situation there is crazy, the only way to stop it is to tell the crazy suicide bombers to stop what they are doing.

Posted by TimeWarp on Aug-11-2001 05:30:

Im Iranian and might me biased to the Palestinians side.... I lived in the middle east for 11 years ( Kuwait ) and from what i saw during my life there, is that there is a dislikingness and mistrust among the two parties..
The fighting has reached to a point where there is no reason to kill except for revenge for their own "brothers" killing... Hatred and Revenge are not going to ever solve anything and I dont think UN peacekeepers would be able to do anything either... Its a known fact that military style warfare always loses to guerrilla type warfare, and because of this, neither the UN or the Israeli armed forces will be able to control the situation..

I personally think that the Palestinian and Israeli's will never be able to live together.. I mean.. how could u make peace with someone who killed one of ur family members ( comming from both point of views ) The only way to resolve this is to completely seperate the two by dividing the lands somehow..... how they do that is another question to be tackled... The Israel'is believe they were lead there by Moses and that it is their land, and the Arabs will say that they were there first....I dont konw how in Gods name they're going to arrange that...

All I want is to somehow seperate the two so there is no more killing... I dont really care if they co-exist in the same place because i personally dont think it would happen...
Somehow this has to be resolved... too many people dying in vain and for no reason has got to stop...

PEACE

you cant just "tell" them to stop, thats a silly thing to say... and i dont agree with you on the barak/sharon issue, you seem to the far right of me. Barak did his best in negotating for a peace deal, when it failed the ball rolled to Sharon because you were facing a more violent partner so you need a stronger leader. calling Barak "not strong" is a wussy thing to do, he was the most decirated (military medalions/patches/badges) prime minster in the history of the world. comprimising is not a weak aspect.

the only way to stop it too is to tell sharon not to bomb the palestinian territories with his f-16 because according to him it's the anti-terrorism prevention politic . how do u want them not to take a revenge of all that ? and please even israelis and jewish ppl hate arabs and muslims and they want to destroy us all . why do the "SHAS" or i don't know how to write it want to destroy our holy mosque ? why ? and u say we arabs and muslims hate u ? i think it's the opposit ...

Dudes
i aint saying what side im on.
Here's my non-worthy opinion:
- An army of soldiers cant shoot an innocent child claming that he was threatning them by throwing stones! thats stupid and ironic
- 2 nations can't co-exist having 2 different believes that contradict eachother so badly .And as i read b4 u can't stop a brother from revenge to his brother.
- You can't hate arabs or jews all around the world just cause one freaked up son of a bitch blew up a hole place full of people. In that case u'd be seperating them from the rest of the world , so what they do? they will go there to live with people who can tolerate them.Thats how we get fucking racism anyway.
- Don't forget those nations are missled by leaders who has old mentalities of hate and dictatorship. If u put a 25 years old person to lead the country i think it would have been at least less DEADLY!
As those leaders has already got that HATE in them.
- If U put An arab and israeli in a trance club , I don't think they'd even think of killing eachother! Its fuckin trance man! Who gives a shit whats happening to the world!

PEACE!

Interesting views, I won't try to say im not bias, cause I'd just be lying....

but I hate what some people wrote on here....you fail to mention fanatics on both sides, you only mention those arab and islamic militants....these things exist on both sides.......look at the number of deaths...Palestinian dead far outnumber, don't say its accidents, about 45 children dead, died from being shot in the head....coincidence, and the majority of the rest in the abdomen which is known to be the worst way to die....there are militants cause there is no military.......Israeli's rreply with a simple rocket launch or attack with tanks....and what do the Palestinians have?! rocks and some M-16's....im not saying they should be fighting, but you cannot change human nature on this....

Jerusalem will never be split, I belive in what my religion says that when the Temple of Solomon is built in Jerusalem, that is one of the signs of Judgement day.........in other words this issue will never be resolved...

think about it!.....i killed your brother, you killed my uncle.....are we gonna live side by side?!?!....its just human nature, its not gonna happen!!!

Posted by Some One on Aug-11-2001 07:18:

Ok this goes out to both Izzy, the close Minded Morrocan and Zing

First off, Israel is in a need of a strong leader, and Barak is not the man to do it. Why did he "suddenly" resigned? huh?

Second off, Morocon you are an idiot, you think that all jews want is to kill all the arabs? you gotta be crazy. I am jewish, and do you know how many Arabic friends I have? most likely more then all the people you know all together. I dont know why, but i dont have any urge to KILL any of them....

the only way to stop it too is to tell sharon not to bomb the palestinian territories with his f-16 because according to him it's the anti-terrorism prevention politic

Ok what came first, the terrorists attacks on Israel or the Bombings? The terrorists attacks came first, and the F16's attacks follow as retaliation

and please even israelis and jewish ppl hate arabs and muslims and they want to destroy us all

yeah ok, if we wanted to destroy you all, we would do it soo fast, you wouldnt even notice the entire gaza strip disappear. besides, this must have been the most stupid phraze ever. I am jewish, and do you know how many Arabic friends I have? most likely more then all the people you know all together. I dont know why, but i dont have any urge to KILL any of them...

and u say we arabs and muslims hate u ? i think it's the opposit

They dont hate us, most of em atleast, its that small group of idiots who strap bombs to themselfs

An army of soldiers cant shoot an innocent child claming that he was threatning them by throwing stones! thats stupid and ironic

Ok, This really bugs me... but, lets say YOU would be one of those soldiers, and those same kids would be throwing rocks at you. What would you do,
A) Shoot them (hell if you dont, you're dead cuz those kids will really kill you)
B) Stand there and have 2-3lb rocks thrown at you (this hurts alot, might leave to brain damage if hit in the head)

Oh Yeah One more thing SomeOne:
I Believe a soldier do wear Helmet . DUH!
Not to mention bullet proof vests . DUH DUH!
How bad its gonna be.
Anyway Im outta this.

Peace!

Posted by KaNoS on Aug-11-2001 07:49:

Arrow

One thing about soldiers

you dont know how it feels to be attacked by a larger crow with stones, or bullets
you dont know the fear it comes when ur life is at risk, a 1k rock can hurt u even if u have a helmet and vest

so, unless u know how it feels, u dont know the response. Most people would shoot, just to scare the people, a child got hit? wtf was he doing there?

its easy to judge someone, when u are not in his position.

Posted by Abbas on Aug-11-2001 08:01:

maybe the child belongs there and the soldier doesn't

Posted by dj alonzo on Aug-11-2001 12:51:

I"m Israeli.. and i DON'T hate arabs.. I had alot of arab friends before the "Intifada" started... I want all of us to live in peace, but that propobly won't happen..

About all that soldier-kids thing... my brother was a soldier till 3 years ago and some 15 year old kid threw a 3k stone directly to his chest... my brother was in hospital near a month..
Think about this: 250 ppl throwing LOTS of stones at 30 soldiers, what do you want the soldiers to do??????

And about that "Jews hate all arabs and want to destroy them all"... if israel wanted to destroy the west bank thay could do it with no sweat... israel's got a very very strong and big army... they could erase the whole west bank in minutes, but the don't do it.
And i am jewish, i am from israel, and i don't hate arabs... i hate the Islami Jihad, i hate the Hamas... i don't hate all arabs... my dad's got alot of arab friends, ny brother (yes, the one who got hit by a stone) got alot of arab friends...

This thread is only leading to hate and fights... please close this thread!
