Evenescence - My Immortal (Neo & Farina’s Respect Rmx) (CDR)

A few weeks ago i went to see Misja Helsloot spin and he played this incredible remix of my immortal. Later that night i asked him what remix he played and he said it was a remix of Neo & Farina. He got it on a CD-R and he said it wasn't gonna be released. Does anyone have this song? I've been looking everywhere for it, but can't find it, not even on the hub. So anyone? This is such an amazing song and i really wanna have it, so maybe someone can help me. That would be great!

I've gotta hear this!

so is the latest trend to do bootleg remixes of rock tunes?

Posted by GrimReaper on Feb-27-2004 19:33:

Hmm. I really don't have that high hopes for this.. Neo & Farina usually make just generic trancers which never stand out from the big grey masses of the *yawn* "saw" trance today.

But we'll see if they can point me wrong.

I agree. They produce average dull melodic, I don't like it at all.

Maybe you should acutally get to know the music before you go around making rash generalizations. The original mix of "My Immortal" didn't have any "rock" elements at all. Just a piano, vocals and some orchestrated elements.

Evanescence did a remake of it for radio play with a rock sequence added in. Oh and before you say that Evanescence is a "rock" band I'll go ahead and say I already know this, but I wouldn't classify "My Immortal" as "rock".

i know that my immortal isn't rock, but i just said it like that. i wanted to just make a comment just because like i felt like many is doing bootlegs of songs by rockbands. it wasn't meant a negative remark also just because i do like michael feihstehl's remixes of both numb & my immortal

Alright, I get ya know. I don't really see a problem with it myself...just as long as the material is good stuff (which it has been). The Leama & Moor Remix of Avril's tune was excellent IMO.

Michael Feihstel Remix of My Immortal is OK but not great

Posted by ARNATINE on Feb-28-2004 02:11:

I also like metal music and my inmortal no is a rock music... every metal/rock band always have a soft/balada song

Actually i like Neo & Farina's music but lately their remixing is getting repetitive and lacks of something (which is the element: creativeness). Must hear this one.

I'd say the formula works (behind blue eyes, numb, my immortal, bring me to life, hello, stay, the list go's on and on and on)

I don't see any problems in remixing non-edm tracks. There are a lot of pop/rock songs which are worth getting a club-compatible touch...

Posted by Prototrance on Feb-28-2004 17:55:

I look forward to hearing this. I love the original version and the 'guitars down' version.

Although I would rather hear a mix by someone with a deeper feel than Neo & Farina. Like Satoshi Tomiie, Leama & Moor, Quivver or G&D.

(TO THE FLAMERS)
(THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS AN OPINION)

Indeed, a G&D remix would be awesome I reckon. They remixed also "Hello", one of the best tunes last year.

The original is superb, not to mention the Michael Feihstel Remix. So chilled and melodic.

Unfortunately I have to disagree. Evanescence is probably the best commercial act I've heard in the last 3 years. Much like outkast, they differ from the rest in their respective genre quite a bit, and just by being unique they earn respect in my book. I just get tired of the same shit over and over... Not that I actually am a fan of commercial pop, but some acts are really catchy, and are worth a listen.

Heh, I didn't realise you were a TA. Good work with that remix, hope to see more like it.

Then take a look at my signature!

In my opinion there's nothing wrong with some of the more commercial artists. I love Coldplay for example...
