indeed. Not together, but against.

Posted by YuVaL on Aug-11-2001 02:32:

well...

in a song it usually means they mixed up 2 songs together

when they do a liveset.. Vs means.. one dj lets say paul van dyk spins one record.. then tiesto takes one of his records and his to beatmatch it an mix... and goes on and on till the set is over

Posted by luckystrike on Aug-11-2001 02:45:

yep - its true...
sometimes i confused with "feat" ...

my bad! (already deleted my post )

Posted by Dmatrox on Aug-11-2001 02:46:

wheres the challege?

Posted by JayD on Aug-11-2001 02:51:

The challennge is this... Say in the Ferry Corsten vs. Dj Lemon set..

If you listen to the set, Ferry Corsten plays the first set and Lemon plays the next then so on and so on. Well anywayz, the whole point of this is to show who can do better. What dj can outdo the other by mixing and selection.

Understand?

It only means they both worked on the song (together, not against) and needed a name that features both of them. They could have named it "system f & armin" or "System F joins Armin" or anything like that. Don't look for a real meaning.
And concerning those "versus" DJ nights: this does not necessarily mean that they play a ping-pong set together, I have seen PvD vs. Westbam where both played a three hour set on their own.

ahhh....thanks djdawn for you verification

Posted by DjChook on Aug-11-2001 15:36:

when you see singels with several artists worked on them you might see a joined name (like airscape for johan gielen + some1 - there is a big thread for that) or they just made one or a few, so they didn't ant to come up with a name... Say vs. is just like feat. or presents...
Although theres a few slight defrents, but it doesn't really speaks about a Live set.
