Plz HELP me choose my gear!!!
Hi.
Nexy weekend I'm going to buy my gear. Iv'e got about 1400 usd. I've decided to get me a Numark TTX1 and a mixer. Which one of these do you think is the biggest bang for the buck? A) Behringer VMX 300, Behringer DJX 700 or C) Numark PPD 01. I want you to make your opinion not basing on which do you think is the best, but which one has the best benefit/cost value.
Another thing. I want to get a TT and a mixer first, since I don't have a lot of records and I can get better gear than if I buy two TTs and a mixer, since the budget would splice into three. I've got an excelent laptop with an amazing mixer with a lot of functions, and I've got 500+ mp3s. (most of them were ripped from original cds I bought...) So I can use the PC instead of another turntable. What do you think of this?
Thanks in advance,
Mario.
Do yourself a favor and do not get anything Berhinger...especially their mixers (they suck mad balls). Get a good solid mixer like a DJM 5/600, or even a Vestax PCV 275 is way better than anu berhinger. Your buying good decks, so don't skimp on one of the most important pieces of your system...the mixer. You will get way better sound quality, better faders, blah blah blah
. If you want to get the best sound, step up to Rane or A&H, they are worth the money trust me!!
yeah, don't buy behringer, you'll regret it some day.
Also, i wouldn't buy TTX1 because of the tonearm which is said to be quite crappy... Any numark tonearm is said to be crappy anyway. I'd buy techs or a good alternative (stanton st150!) if i were you.
hey, get an ecler smac pro30
Well the TTX will cost you 800$ max
which leaves you with 600$
Well then you can get Allen & Heath Xone32 which is mint
ur forgetting about vinyls. and also you can get ttx1's on ebay for 660 including shipping or something. just look for it. and go buy yourself an ecler smac pro 30. lol...
In response to the original question, I have the Numark PPD-01, and I like it quite a bit. Works for all my purposes. It might be a bit limiting, though, if you want more than just two channels, each having one phono and one line. Good luck with whatever you get.
why dont you guys like behringer? also, what do you think about either the djx700 mixer or the vmx1000. thanks for the input
The DJX 700 is a fine mixer for the cost. I use it for my bedroom setup as I don't really see the point of shelling out 700-1000 dollars for a bedroom only mixer. As long as it is for a bedroom only setup you will not have any complaints about it. The TTX1s are great turntables, a friend of mine got some on ebay, used but still in excellent condition for about $550 so look around a bit.

I have the DJX700 and i'm already feeling the bite of the upgrade bug.
stanton str8-150 has a very strong tork but i would buy technics mk2.. i wouldn't buy any behringer mixer.. it tones very bad.. i'd choose stanton for mixer (for beginning).. it's a good idea to buy only 1 tt & 1 mixer and using your laptop for the second channel if you have no vinyls.. when you have a good archive buy the second tt..
so the behringer should stay at home. what about the stanton mixers lilke someone said, how do they rate up. im looking to upgrade my mixer and am looking for something with atleast basic effects but also volume faders that work
i thought everyone had given the vmx300 standing ovations? whats with the behringher bashing now? you guys take it back?
yeah im actually thinking about getting the behringer djx700. anyone wanna give their two cents and suggest something else?

I have some first-hand experience with behringer. You'll upgrade shortly. Yeh it works, but the equipment just doesn't have the right feel. Go for vestax.
if anyone thinks about getting sucky djx700 , get the Numark DXM06 in the same price more or less
Get a nice vestax mixer. I have stanton rm3s. Great mixer, the only problem I have with it is that it lacks the great sound quality of the vestax 275. I've used an vmx 300 and it 0wnz. I'm not a fan of those wide 19" mixers, but it's fckin great.
If you got 1400 US to burn, u'd better by sumthin better than a behringer mixer.
