Review: Scumfrog @ Boa

So tell me how good of a set I missed.

I had to miss Boa for the SECOND TIME due to sickness!

That's Sander K AND Scumfrog ( 2 of my fav prog deejays ) that I missed because of this shit.

I keep getting sick at the worst times

So, what did I miss?

I missed it too...after helping a friend move yesterday, I just didn't have the energy to go out

please say it sucked

yup.. i missed it too ..

Was in line, but never made it in the door. Just couldn't see myself lasting more then an hour. Suffering from some serious jet lag.

yea it did suck..i mean i dont mean to be a pessimist..but it was a total opposite of last saturday (satoshi)
people were dead..the vibe was bad..not bad..but not good either...no one was even dancing hard..maybe just a few people..and where the hell were all the girls from last saturday??..i dont know but i was very dissapointed...
i hope the vibe + girls from last saturday come back..i think boa is a great club..i would hate to see it die..

I think it was AWESOME....

I got there at 12:30am and there was nobody in line but that sooned changed in 15 minutes or so...ANyway it was my first time at Boa and I thought it looked amazing inside...The sound system was pretty good too and Scumfrog dropped some badass tribal house...I stayed til 6am and was actually surprised that I wasn't dead tired near the end of my night since all I had were 3 of those GURU drinks...I also thought the staff @ Boa were great...I was dissapointed that some of those bare chested gorillas were there though...kinda reminded me of the Guv (yuck)...Anyway... so yeah...I had alot of fun.

Drale- were u there for the girls, or the music? Sure it wasn't as packed as the week before, but it was almost too crowded last week. I agree the crowd was more subdued this week, but if you had hung around with the TA's, you woulda had plentyof vibe. Plenty of people hung it out til the bitter end at 9:40am (that was the latest we've ever left a club in TO) & it was well worth staying til the end.

Scumfrog didn't use his drum pad much this time around. I personally enjoyed the 2nd half of his set much more. For a series of 3 songs, it was an almost out of body experience... "Sweet Dreams", OMG! That was an amazing set... So good to see the largest turnout of TA's to the club for their 1st time, and it there wasn't even a trance headliner there, lol! That says something.... More to review later, but I'm being antisocial here at the after-party. Yep, it's 1:30pm, & still up... anyways, more later.

Nice place, great sound, decent vibe... except for those sweaty topless dudes bumping into you. An awesome $15 night all together, hard as hell but not really my flavor. Good seeing you all and meeting some new people. Cheers

Well wasn't that a fun evening! We supported Jessie a.k.a ScumFrog with all the Froggies in the audience...

Our ears were pleased with that kick ass sound system (You rock Bo@)

I had a really nice time last night although my legs began to hurt by 5am!(as they should!) and I found that the beat was so repeatitive after a while (sorry to those i offend by saying so), It was way more repeative then the last I heard and that kinda made me drift away, (other additive may have been involved) but I must Admit he is a wikked DJ when it comes to blending beats, drumz, vocals and his deep Sext Voice!

Well let the beat go on!

Scumfrog was good, but the concept of after hours club i personally do not like. Sorry to everyone i seemed lazy and tired & was even feeling a little sick, i hardly got sleep the last night which was about 2 hrs of it.

I left at around 5 ish, and i was too tired to say bye and i was feeling a little sick, but it was fun meeting up at the pub .


And it was nice to talk to you kristina hopefully i should be able to fly in may to UK , sorry i left abruptly, but i didnt feel too good.I will keep you posted via PM

12:40 I made a right hand turn on to dundas and noticed there was no lineup for Boa....I parked underground....12:50 I proceeded upstairs along dundas and turned around the corner......and WAM
WTF....HUGE ASS LINE UP
got to the front eventually and they professionally searched everyone in a neat orderly fashion and up the stairs through the metal detector I went....Main Floor....very classy and comfy ...it has an ol new age victorian style lounge with a bar and I didn't see the dj booth but there were differnt beats from the upstairs party room....so I made my way up the thick stairwell and around the corner....at the top of the stairs to my right is the dj booth and to my left is the dance floor and to my further left was BOA....immaculate club very classy...with huge open concept....just picture a theatre without the seats and a platform in the front centre....I love those private bathrooms.....and the sound..HFS KILLER BASS and soooo clear....very goodlooking crowd, no riff raff
and SCUMFROG fuckin killed it....everyone was dancin hardcore...we had a blast...and it was good seeing everyone again and meeting some new faces.....I think this place is going to be the next hot spot and could give Guv<---just guv not koolhaus and guv events...some competition.....all that place needs is a roof top patio for the summer.....

Anyways, here's my little summary of the night. I originally went to chill at Maxstradamus' place; smoke some weed, drink some beer. I decided to skip out on Boa cause I didn't have any cash...but yea; 2 beers later and a few joints, and we're all riled up to party. 1 hour later, we're standing in the lineup at Boa.

I must say that I'm VERY impressed with the club. I really like the setup and decorations (although, those steps are a bit of a bitch). Really good use of the lights. Great staff. And a really crisp, clean, THUMPING sound system. Met up with a bunch of TA's (ya'll know who you are ) and met 2 new TA girls (deb and jen...damn, you 2 really got energy!!)

As for Scumfrogs set; it was pretty good. Nice and dirty but nothing extraordinary.

And to be honest, I wouldn't mind too much if Sasha & Digweed stopped at Boa for their Delta Heavy 2 tour, instead of Kool Haus (it's too bad Boa is so small compared to KH though).

MUSIC: 9/10
CROWD: 6.5/10

The music was absolutely unbelievable! This is especially surprising because i don't normally listen to any electronica except trance. But Scumfrog blew my mind! The crowd was a little disappointing though. Because the headliner came on so late (that's my guess anywya), a lot of the girls left around 3ish, making it a 70/30 sausage fest for the rest of the night. Somehow, i still did manage to meet about a half-dozen cool girls that night, so i've got no complaints. All in all though, the night was amazing. I came home at noon, what the hell does that tell you?

For a first night at Boa, I had a SIIIICK time.. I got the chance to meet a few of the TA's & got to see my sis jenniepie... I didn't stop dancing all night.. the beats were good and I really liked the club.. the soundsytem was incredible.. I will be a repeat customer.. Scumfrog was layin' down some dirty beats.. that's the shit I love.. so all in all.. t'was a good night =)
