Chicane
Who owns "Chichane - Far From The Maddening Crowds"?
is it worth buying?
it is
wikkid
Yes, most definitely.
I own this and Behind The Sun; both essential albums really. FFTMC is perhaps a bit better in terms of overall flow.
No worries starglider. Its just... the only reason I am asking is because I just heard a sample from this album on the net.
Whichever track I was listening to sounded alot like saltwater.
Same style anyway.
I take it that Chicane is one of those DJ's that has a signature style or whatever to fook its called....
chicane rpes the common nwb.
rpes? nwb?
oh i get it, more of the latest jargon.
hmm let me see..... "nwb".... noob?
who knows

The perfect session for listening to some chillout would be listening to chicane's far from the maddening crowds and then behind the sun.
my favourite track from behind the sun is Andromeda... no wait.. its Low Sun.... yeah definitely low sun
wait a minute!

fok, I thought he only had 2 albums!
well then, was there something you werent telling me
I hate it when it goes quiet
Hellooooo-oooooooo-oooooo
Spamming much?
Easy To Assemble is indeed Chicane's third album, however, while it is not without merit, I would not call it "essential" as I did his previous two.
Not essential.
So no stand out tracks then?

Empires is one of the best tracks on Easy To Assemble. The album is not officially released tho, thanks to the ppl who leaked the promo out into the net b4 it was meant to so they decided to delay the release and possibly Chicane is doing/did some reworking and changes to the album. We'll see.
You should also try Chicane's non-mixed compilation Visions Of Ibiza. Damn nice selection of mostly older (some classic) tracks from chilled ones to trance.

Only one i have hard is Offshore, but I am a big fan of Chicane, so i might go see if i can find the CD somewhere local
anyone know the release date of Easy to Assemble? Nick hasn't updated his site since december(chicaneonline.com)
I haven't seen an exact release date yet, only "early 2004".
Chicane's sound has altered significantly over the years, his first full length was mainly chilled, with some trance influence.
Behind the Sun was much more commercial, more Trancey, and had a lot more vocals, but still maintained a decided chill tone.
Easy to Assemble is very, very commercial with less of chill/trance influence remaining. The song that most laud as the best on it, Empires, is to my ears, a reworked version of Hybrid's Finished Symphony, and not deserving of *too* much praise.
I love Chicane, and I think FFTMC and BTS are both excellent, but ETA hasn't impressed me, hopefully some 'reworking' before the formal release will help it out, but I'm not holding my breath. The album isn't *horrible* by any stretch, but it's not nearly as good as Nick's previous efforts either.
He definitely has a signature sound though, which is one of the reasons he's had such a solid following for so long, despite the lack of new releases for going on 4 years now with the pushback on the new album.
