Why aren't cameras allowed?

You can read in a lot of topics about clubs and events where you aren't allowed to bring you digi-cam inside - why is that? I think it's stupid. Of course there are a number of ways to get it in (your underwear etc), but still...cameras should be allowed...it's all about memories, right?

it's because of restrictions and crapola. Some djs don't want their pics taken, you can have liability issues yada yada yada it's kind of pointless but they do it to cover their backs.

also because some people dont want pictures like this spread all over the net

but ill holla 500 on those bitches

cuz for the DJ, its like looking into a strobe light when mixing. . . .business wise, i think its to keep the clubs safe in case something bad were to happen inside.

I think club owners don't want pics and recording of teenagers getting drunk, wide spread drug use, and sex to end up on the news.

good friends of yours?

Posted by zoomzoom on Mar-02-2004 23:34:

they do it because they can.

if a club bans digicams, i wonder what their stance is on cel phones. most new phones come with integrated cameras.

Posted by Greedy on Mar-03-2004 00:17:

already banned!

Would you like to have someone flashing a camera in your eyes while your trying to mix?

lol @ that.. no not friends, the left girl is just pretty obviously under the influence (can you even determine the color of her eyes? ), and I've heard stories about club owners prohibiting cameras inside because there were people taking pictures of wasted people and spreading on the net.

Posted by Streakfury on Mar-03-2004 12:33:

The one on the left can spread her pics all over the net as often as she likes

hh oh so true

She looks pretty good to me

Posted by halexander837 on Mar-04-2004 17:56:

I can think of a good reason.
There's a possibility of the camera exploding in front of someone AND THEN A HUGE FIRE!

It's all because of liability. Like someone posted before, if you took pics of people using drugs or underaged drinking, or any of the other illegal crap that goes on inside most clubs, you could potentially sell the photos to a newspaper or (god forbid) Fox news, and the club would be royally FUCKED.
To a smaller extent it is also because some DJs have contracts where they can't be photographed or can only have exclusive people photograph them, etc.

Uhhh, most places allow cameras here and it's not that big of a distraction. I dunno, maybe if you have 5000 people in the front row snapping pictures non-stop, otherwise...
