Ok so i had a conversation with a chick at my work.

Here it is :

"Well i know you like trance but i hate it." she says
"So why do you hate trance?" i asked
"Becouse theres no words in trance, but i like techno tho" she replies
" Uhm thats weird , you hate trance but you like techno?" i asked her
" Yeah at least in techno they sing and theres a couple of good rnb and rap songs with techno beats." she says
"?????????????????????" I started getting confused.
"Uhm sing in techno?" i asked her
" Yeah, i like Dj Sammy shez a good techno singer" she replies.

Ok that was the point when i gave up lol.

Well i live in Ohio, expecially in small town lol, so peoples have no clue about dance music

Once she seen me driving while i was listening to tiesto - summerbreese cd , and it was tiesto- sparkles ( megikal remix) she said im listening to that robot music

I think it's all a matter of open-mindedness. People hear trance and automatically have an opinion for it. If more people were like "well make me a cd of it and i'll listen to it" and then they formed an opinion of it, things would be better. Even if they didn't like it after that, at least you would know they actually took the time to listen to it and think about it.

you'd think so! but have you considered the fact that there will always be hordes (read: vast majority) of people that simply must marinate in pop culture, whether this pertains to music or anything else; its just the way it is, most ppl are a bunch of eager beaver zombies just itching to absorb whatever trends the media churns out, i think there's no point in trying to change peoples minds or prove anything to them - i think most of us try to at one point, but after a while you realize why bother, just why f*cking bother, what's it gonna change, nothing.

Yeah I tried that too a few months ago. There was this guy at my work who loved freestyle but said he could never get into trance. So I made him a c.d. of some trance and a few house tracks on it hoping to change his mind. He said he listened to it and was amazed. Said it was really good. But a week later as I was throwing some old batteries in the work trash bin, I saw the c.d. I made for him lying in there too. Needless to say I was pissed.
