Confused Hardstyle...who likes it....and why?

Im pretty open minded...
I like harder beats sometimes..
But I dont get hardstyle...
can somebody PLees exPLain to me how snareroll after snareroll and some dark voice or some chipmunk voice can keep you entertained all nite.
I feel like breaking things when I hear hardstyle

Posted by gokz on Mar-03-2004 02:33:

i get ya.. it sounds okay until it starts to sound cheap.. for example, a track produced with some shitty audio software, ejay LOL.

Gawd that little fat dude is hilarious yet disturbing

some hardstyle is bearable and funnily enuff its mainly by the one bearable producer technoboy/tuneboy etc... i must stress though even only a couple of his tracks are bearable too so to answer your question... i dont like it but its bearable.

You're right in saying you are open minded, thats what I like about you JulesPLess....

Nonetheless, my opinion of Hardstyle is fucking noise

Posted by gumble on Mar-03-2004 08:41:

its junk

Posted by OzTisto on Mar-03-2004 10:18:

It's like hard trance without the trance....and less structure...

I think Nik Fish is behind it somehow....he's normally got a hand in anything hard and crap...

Posted by SoupaFlys on Mar-03-2004 12:39:

I like hard trance without the hard.

Posted by Aesthetic on Mar-04-2004 04:31:

its shit

Posted by one.tjc on Mar-05-2004 06:30:

keep an open mind.

i happen to like hard house

it is people like lisa pin up and lashes that give the scene a bad name..

if you want a good example of hard house

check out any of nick sentience's new work

especially his dvd - UniveralLanguage, quality.

Nik Fish played a set at Summadayze in Perth. It was the most god awful think I've ever heard, but it pulled the crowd into the tent.. I think it was mainly the crossfader work out.

Lawson and ed real also played at this event, lawson's tune selection I likened to marching and germany (no offence to any germans .. but it is german hardstyle afterall!) it was just that kinda music .. a few nice tunes played, but some of it was just monotoneous crap.

Ed Real was pretty rude, and he got what he deserved with an empty tent, again a couple of nice tunes played, but the rest was horrible.

I guess its like any genre, it has its good points, and its bad points, unfortunately so far what we hear in Australia (and especially perth) is the basic crap that the general gurner can get into.

Shame / Disagreement

can't say i've ever liked hardstyle.
yep. i'm definitely not a fan of the 'ard genres

I love all forms of dance music especially trance and hard trance. I picked up a record the other day Gouryella - Ligaya the hardstyle remixes. And it is now one of my fav tracks it has a good bass beat but with still with all of the trance sound. I proceeded to download a few more tracks only to find that most of them sounded crap. I will continue to listen to hardstyle records when buying but I think the overall sound of the majority of tracks is a little too bland for my likeing with only a few good tracks floating around.

I love all types of hard electronic music :P even with trance i like the harder more energetic type. Depends what mood im in, sometimes i listen to trance but also hardstyle As you can tell from my name, NRG is my favourite

Posted by hugoboss on Mar-06-2004 05:39:

I like to think I'm pretty open minded about all styles of electronic music. If we're talking aout the "hard" styles of electronic music, I've heard good hard trance, I've heard good hardcore/gabber, I've heard decent hard house, and most freeform f*%@in' rocks.

I haven't, however, heard anything remotely decent under the "hardstyle banner

If you slow it down, you can actually see a pony tail bopping up and down in a few of the frames. In short, it's actually a girl.

Posted by TiksA on Mar-07-2004 05:43:

I dislike anything hard. In trance I kinda like the mellow side more, In Search Of Sunrise style

Posted by almost on Mar-07-2004 12:26:

bang bang bang bang, evil voice, electrical equipment, bang bang etc etc, that seems to sum up hardstyle

and what is it with hardstyle & most releases having a picture disc.

.. its to make up for the shit music, they think we are all in kindergarten and pretty pictures make us happy.

either that or they want you to spend more time looking at it then playing the record.

either one works for me.
