trance virgin....well almost.
Hi all! I basically know all the REALLY famous songs since 2000, but I went back and started looking into more trance and I've been growing in love with it. My husband is military and we are in Mississippi of all places...not exactly a place to get to go to decent clubs.
If you were to name 5 songs that would define a basic lesson in trance (we'll call it Trance 101). what would they be? Please dont say Sandstorm, my head might explode.

I suggest you take a listen Armin van Buuren - A state of trance radioshow. It gives you the latest and hottest uplifting, melodic and progressive trance tracks.
Rapid Eye - Circa Forever (R.E. Mix)
Dumonde - Never Look Back (Tiesto remix)
Solar Stone - Seven Cities (AVB remix)
Paul van Dyk - For an Angel
Tiesto - Urban Train
All of those were overplayed, and are really popular, u might even know all of them

those should work
if you want some good cds w/ these songs and ones similar to them, pick up Paul Oakenfold's "Tranceport" and his "Resident - 2 Years At Cream" discs. the "Resident" cd is getting more difficult to find, but its definitely worth picking up.

None of these are too hard to find, and they are all friendly yet serious trance. I'd recommend looking for a couple of "Best of Trance" albums, such as:
Trance Nation Anthems
Very Best of Euphoria
Check out Matt Darey's material from 1997-2000, because he pretty much defines that era and owned it as well.

Hey all! I browsed around listening to all the songs you all suggested that i had not heard before. I am so happy to hear such great music! I even stumbled across quite a few I had heard before, but never knew the name to. I found that most of the songs did not have vocals, which i like. I do howevere, also enjoy songs with vocals...like "I see right through you" or the song by motorcycle. Something about the dreamy sounding vocals that really gets my attention. Any suggestions? You know, a long time ago, like in 2000, they would play this song at the clubs a lot, and it had a female singing on it kinda like the sound that the lady who sings in "smack my bitch up" by prodigy has. Any idea what song that is? thanks!!!!
