samples question
This is the situation. Got some violin samples. But theyre too short to fill out some of the long notes. Tried stretching them in Cool Edit, but it made them all warbly.
Obviously this is unacceptable, so any ideas?

Kontakt is the best in my opinion for looping samples. You can also add an envelope onto it too, makes it sound much nicer
edirol has a really cool orchestral synth
Kontakt is VERY resource hungry.. Halion only loads the first 2 seconds of a sample and keeps the rest on your harddrive..
how long do you want your notes to be? If the samples u have are less then a second that's called stocatto (probably spelled that wrong) and they aren't supposed to be used for sustained notes...
and yes, Edirol DOES have a reasonably nice Orchestra VSTi (sample based called Orchestral) but the samples in say Vienna Symphonic Library sound 10x better.. but Orchestral is good for an all-around VSTi solution - it comes with nearly EVERYTHING you would want from an orchestra except for an organ and a choir..
