Magik: they are all great but who's the best?

All the magik cd's roxx, but which one do YOU think is the greatest?

My personal favorite is number six: Magik (6) Live in Amsterdam.

I agree, Magik 6 is the best one in my opinion.

Hmm.. this is too hard a desicion to make! I know I wouldn't go for Magik 6 as the best though, although it was really good! So um, I'm gonna rate 'em all from best to least best:

1. Magik 5 - Heaven Beyond
2. Magik 1 - First Flight
3. Magik 4 - A New Adventure
4. Magik 2 - Story Of The Fall
5. Magik 6 - Live In Amsterdam
6. Magik 7 - Live In L.A
7. Magik 3 - Far From Earth

That's ma list, give or take!

P.S. My 1st 2nd n 3rd are all just about tied for first! lol

I personally don't know why everyone made such a big deal about Magik 6... I don't know if it was the sound quality (since it was recorded live) or the bpm of the album, but I did not think it was that great. I think, however, that Magik 5 was by far Tiesto's best album in the Magik series.

dude magik 6 had some of the best tracks of all time!!! it was the best. sprakles (transa remix), dreaming, silence (tiestos mix), soooooooo many more, i have it in my playlist, but im too lazy to write them all down.

First of all...the track selection..Some of the best trax ever.....and then the power of being able to hear all the poeple just screaming to the wonderfull beats of Silence....i get goosebumps everytime i hear that crowd thing.....

Don't get me wrong, I love Magik 6, but I think 6 AND 7 steered away from what the Magiks were originally all about, plus I knew just about all the tracks on both albums before they came out, this wasn't the case with previous albums! I think Tiesto shold make more tunes under 'Allure' for future Magiks, just to give 'em that ol atmosphere back!

I agree with you on magik 7...it was a major dissapointment to me...i had heard almost all the trax beofre and they werent even that good...But magik 6......it was one of the CDs that made me take the final step into trance music........

I do second you on the allure thing.....

It was mentioned before, but Magik 1-5 are different from 6 and 7 in an obvious way. Magik 5 is the best in my opinion, 6 is better than 7.

Magik 1 & 2 are my favorite Magik discs, followed by 3 & 4. 5 wasn't bad, but 6 & 7 aren't all that. The early Magik Cd's were trance in it's purest form....

5&6 are my favorites...5 just flows and 6 has more energy but still those flowing melodies that relax the mind. I love all the magiks...some are better than others (such as Magik 7). Magik 7 had good energy its just that we've all heard those songs before and it was too similar to Revolution mix cd2. Every artist is entitled to mistakes though so Tiesto is still God! end of discussion

Two main reasons why I don't think magik 6 is magical or all that.
1. Many songs on the album I already heard at the time that the album came out. They just seemed to familiar,, too much of the same tempo. Very high energy through out the whole set.
2. The sound quality kind of sucked. Especially to be released as an album. When I put that thing up high,, it has an echo, hollow type sound to it. I don't like it. It takes a lot of quality out of some of the songs. I guess that is what happens when they recorded it off the the wash-board or whatever it is called, as opposed directly from the mixer.

I like how magik 1-5 (especially 5) takes me through a magical journey,, not just one high-end tone.

6 is the best, i need to find the others because i think ive only heard 5,6, and 7 i like all of tiesto's work though no matter what it is i dont think ive ever heard a bad set by tiesto. Though some might disagree i like all of tiesto's work. Though corsten is still #1 tiesto is still good.

to answer quickly your first point, i know what you're talking about.. but i love it... you can really hear it in track 4, free radical - surreal
some kinda "big" sound

now your first point, its probably exactly true, but you see as with myself i think a lot of TAs on this board never knew of tiesto (or maybe even of dutch trance, just ferry) really before.
magik 6 was our first, defining "exposure" to him. and it was catchy, and we loved it. and so since it was our first, we didnt know many of the tracks before.. and so it has a special place in everyone's heart

and that's why they say "magik 6 is the best"
