well.. i'll die eventually, but i havn't been told of anything that's gonna happen any time soon.

anyways, now that i've gotten ur attention i'm gonna tell u about an accident i had at work today.

i work in a supermarket. and between the warehouse & store there's a shutter & a plastic flap. the shutter only goes down at night, where as the flap goes up&down as we need to go in & out.

so, the flap was down and i pressed the button which makes it go up.
little did i know that one of the managers put the shutter down a little bit.

anyways. i was foing theough, and the flap was nearly totally up, so i ducked under it to get through quicker. and SMACK! banged my head off the shutter and got a big nasty cut on my eyebrow. and a wee smaller one on my nose.

anyways. the swell manageress give me a plaster
which helped a bunch

Can't you sue the bastards? In US you'd be getting MAAAAD workman's comp... your lawyer would probably make a claim that you became impotent after the accident and get yo ass paid! CAAAAACHIING!

i i lost the eye. fair enough.

but it was an accident.
it hurt a bit at the time. but shock numbed it.
it'll be an irritation for a few nites while trying to get to sleep.

but i dont think i deserve any cash settlement.

what would i be entitled to if i were to sue in the US??

Scars - they are worth some dough. Figure maybe about $10K - $20K plus lost wages and if he's really good - emotional trauma.

But how's this for a X-files type scenario:
My friend did a project for US Navy (civilian job) and after he came back from the lunch he doesn't remember much - like he lost time or something. The next thing he remembers is paramedics trying to load him up in an ambulance with both shoulders dislocated. Had a surgery to remove bone fragments from the sockets and had a rod inserted to put his shoulders back in place. No signs of epilepsy, no drugs, nothing - clean as a whistle and no other bruises, concussions or marks. THe doctor said that his shoulders resembled the cases like someone being restrained - usually after forceful arrest or something. No one saw jack shit, no one took responsibility and claim they "just found him like that". He was not trespassing or doing anything illegal. Moreover - he didn't have medical at the time and ended up paying for ER and surgery out of his pocked - no small change $40K! Lost that job (he was a contractor) because he was trying to sue, no attorney would take the case because it's too complicated and still does not have a full use of his arms.

Now, how's that for a story?

** Don't feel too bad. I had to get stutchers(plastic stitches, done by a plastic surgeon) becasue my dog bit my upper lip. I look perfect now.... You'll turn out ok, just hang on there. Also, this place my friend worked at, made her work about 70 hours a week...something like that and she was only 15(at the time...a year or two ago)...lol...haha

Except their computers. You can get some spanking deals in Aldi when they sell those Medion PC's. Apparently Medion are the best PC manufacturers because they use top quality shite, unlike those bastards at PC World, who rip you off soooo bad. Grrrrr.
